Most of our charges have occurred in the last 3 years there were only a couple in the first 3. I'll check the figures with Martin's calculator though if it's working now.
I know this isn't about bank charges as such but can you reclaim penalty fees charged by a mortgage company ? Like for not having a direct debit in place, bouncing a direct debit or being in arrears ?
Yes I think you can, I don't know much about mortgages, but I seem to remember people on this and the other sites reclaiming them,
good luck0 -
New to all this so not sure if i'm in right place for my question. I asked for my charges to be sent to me from lloyds tsb last year. They sent me the charges just as everything was frozen because of the upcoming test case. I didn't bother with the next stage of putting in a claim as nothing was going to happen until the end of the case. Since then i have misplaced the list of charges i was sent. Can i ask the bank to send me another copy so i can procede with my claim or do i have to wait until the outcome of the case?0

Wondered if anyone out there could advise me. Had an account with Nationwide that I closed in 2002, is it to late to reclaim and if not would I only be allowed to claim for 2002 & not six years before that?
Would appreciate some help
thanks!0 -

Before the turn of the year around september ish i informed my bank using the template provided on this site. I recieved a letter from the bank saying it had noted my demand for a return of my bank charges, but said that it will be taking no action until the test case which is currently runnin.
Can anyone give me advise as to what i should be doing next. My charges were well over 1500 and mostly from when i was a student and on low wages. So i believe i should get these back!

You need to send the second letter saying that you will take them to court and that way get your claim into the system.
(Couldn't get the quote thingy to work)
The same thing has happened to me with Lloyds TSB, I sent them a letter asking for my bank charge details and a £10 cheque they just sent a letter back basically saying everything was on hold 'til after the test case.
What do I do now??
I thought they had to send the details anyway but they haven't.0 -
I sent a letter to NatWest with a run down of my bank charges for the past 6 years, with a view to reclaiming them. They sent me a reply saying they are awaiting the outcome of a test case, and can do nothing until this is resolved. Any ideas what I should do next?0

Hi
I sent a letter (template) to Lloyds TSB asking for about £1200 back, I promptly received a letter saying the decision in the high court is not yet complete and they will not pay anything until it is completed.
They also said they would ask any court that i wish to take them to, that the case be held until the high court case is completed.
Should i now send in a letter saying i want my money back now?
Many Thanks

This my 1st post so if it goes wrong apologies in advance
Warning Warning Warning, we are attempting to recover circa £4,500,00 from Nat West taken from my wifes bank account over the course of the last six years - not withstanding a third of my wifes salary taken in Oct last year against 2 cancelled direct debits totaling £17.40.
So far it has taken 6 letters sent recorded delivery, 11 telephone calls and ultimately an application to the County Court.
Nat West have employed solicitors and hit back with a huge document that is anything but plain language asking for information that would drown the average legal illiterate - such as us - in paper work. Sent to the court and demanding the application is struck out unless we supply this information
It is clear that this is a cleverly put together standard document that will follow all future county court applications no matter the size of the amount claimed. If the claim is struck out and/or if there is a hearing it looks like Nat West will apply for costs if the defense is successful0 -
I was just wondering if anyone has heard how this court case is going on who has won this case:mad:0
