  • No maxie. It is not correct.

You pay £10 for the whole 6 years worth. Do not be told otherwise.
If they don't comply with your request then they are in breach of the Data protection Act.
Send them a cheque for £10 asking for the 6 years worth of statements - don't pay any more as it sounds like they are trying to make a quick buck out of you. Not on!!!!

    Hi there,

Can anyone advise me please as I've been trying to obtain bank statements from Lloyds TSB without success. They have now contacted me to say I have to pay £10 for each year I want. Is this correct?

    Many thanks,
    maxie max

You need to send the template letter from Martin's article where you are asking for the information held on you under the DPA and not just copy statements which all banks are entitled to charge for and do.

If you have internet banking you can obtain the information you need that way.
  • Can anyone out there confirm for me please if clydesdale and Barclays are the same company, because I started court proceedings against clydesdale and I have recieved an acknowlagement but the defendant has change its name to Barclays bank PLC. have checked out the net and thier is nothing to suggest they are. I'm just really confused and getting a bit jittery.

  • i have post this on another thread as im not sure where to put it!!!!!

i sent a letter to barclays asking for them to refund my charges which came to about 1200 inc intrest. they sent a letter saying that all cases have been stayed due to the test case.

do you think i could get the stay lift due to hardship as i am currently unemployed at the moment?

    thanks

hi there, i accepted the 'goodwill gesture' in july before the test case,as 'part payment without prejudice' from b.o.s and told them i was pursuing the rest through small claims court.the money was paid into my account. i started court proceedings, where i was given court date of 28 sept, then it was announced that test case was going through the court.i hadn't heard from them until 6th sept when they sent letter and 'acceptance/rejection form', saying that goodwill payment still stands, i can reject or accept this offer, if i accept this offer this will be in full and final settlement of my complaint if i refuse they are asking for money back.
Is this another offer or is it same offer that i already accepted? anyone know what i should do accept or decline?
  • Thanks wriggle - I did not know that the banks were so ruthless in their charging. I guess that explains how these amounts are racked up.

Like you said, when you have kids like most of us you have to find the money from somewhere to put food in their mouths, you can't just not feed them!

Although I guess the banks are not bothered about this so they will just keep adding the charges on all the time.

I am lucky I have never found myself in this position. I have just discovered this website recently because I am determined to pay off my credit card, my store card, my overdraft and my mortgage early.

    Hi all,
I won my claim at the end of July, and am at a bit of a loss what to do at nights now, so have decided to claim against 2 mortgage companies that I was with over the past 6 years. I have looked out all the details and will fire them off tomorrow, so hope I'm as successful as before. I'll keep you posted

  • Could you put dates against when the banks agreed to refund you or when you were actually refunded ??

Just so that we can have an idea.. ;)

    Many thanks
  • Hi All,

I don't know if anyone can give me any advice as to what to do next. I wrote to my bank Lloyds TSB on 25th July 2007 about reclaiming my bank charges. I have now received a letter from them dated 24th August received wednesday 5th September so they are with in the 40 day deadline, in the letter they are telling me the FSA have agreed to suspend the timetable in dealing with Bank Charges complaints, also what they havew put in the letter is as folows:-

"If you decide to make a complaint, we can assure you that the details of it will be registered - and once the legal proceedings with the OFT are concluded, we will resolve you complaint a.s.a.p. If at that stage you do not agree with our response you will of course be able to refer the case to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) or to the Courts".

They owe me approximately £1500.00. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT, ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

    Thanks
