OS daily thread for 16/05/07

Good evening/late afternoon everyone :hello:

(((kiwichick))) sorry to hear about all your troubles. DH and I have separate bank accounts (not that there's much in mine :rolleyes:) and just so long as you have proof of ID, you should have no problems setting up an account of your own.

The children are doing ok in their optional SATs in my school. When I was their age, I was petrified about "little quizes" like that but I suppose they've had so many of them, it doesn't really phaze them now.

Sadly, I've got stacks to do tonight in preparation for tomorrow (more tests for the little darlings). Plus the fact that the head is sitting in on our team meeting. Luckily, being bottom of the pile it's not me that she's observing!

I was told that one of the teachers is leaving and I'd originally assumed that they would need a direct replacement (Reception teacher - I have very little experience), HOWEVER it turns out that it would be for the key stage that I'm in (KS2). The head has made me aware that it's going to be advertised and said that I should apply for it. I'm not overly sure what my chances of getting it are. I'm currently on a supply contract with them. We'll see.....

Supper tonight is currently defrosting - veggie pasta sauce with wholewheat pasta. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Better go and get on with my work.

Afternoon all, not just me having trouble with school at the minute then mrs mix.
Im fuming, they have started checking the kids lunch boxes and giving stickers out for healthy options, this is a great idea in principle but kids have been targeted for not having any heathly options they only get a sticker on the lunch card they have all been give if they have brought fruit, my kids take brown bread, youghurts pasta salad but they dont get stickers for that!!!
I think it is a cheeky way of checking lunch boxes without saying they are doing so!! Because i for one wouldnt agree, if they want to tell me what to put in the boxes then they can pay for it!!!
Then to top it off school phoned me today to remind me that ds3 needs a waterproof jacket for his school trip tommorow, Yes i know it was on the letter they sent home and as if i would send him without one anyway, turns out im the only parent to be phone as ds3 will not take a coat to school normally but if they asked him he could tell them there is a pac-a-mac in bottom of his bag!!! DO THEY THINK IM THICK????
Sorry moan over school just really getting my goat at the minute with lots of things.
Other than that had a nice day, took my mum shopping and got a few more reduction bargins.
Dh out painting and kids upstairs playing, i just feeling abit fed up tonight, a big bubble bath is called for i think.

Kids had swimming today, they were worked hard tonight, they are tired tonight.

ds1 had a bad time at lunch, was sick a lot and had tummy pain, said he was ok though as he had gym in afternoon, this has been going on too long this sickness, there is hardly a day goes by where he is not sick, phoned dsn but no reply, left message as i want this sorted, will give him laculose in case he is bunged up.

Havent managed to do anything today , managed to change our bed covers and hoover, thats it really, having a bad day

Just worked out what the p.m. was about - Take no notice.

Bet it was the same person who sent a nasty p.m. to penny pincher.

Had a quiet day and made savoury mince with either new potatoes (jerseys) or mash which everyone enjoyed.

Two of my dds have a cold so have been making hot lemon drinks with honey for them.

DH insists tomorrow wil be a really nice day so might make a huge quiche and have it with salad.

DD wants the computer so bye and hugs to all.

Sorry I missed a couple of days. I've been busy at work and a teeny bit distracted. I'm very disappointed in myself because I STILL haven't done my baking and I STILL haven't cooked my chili. I was naughty yesterday, got home late, and just ordered a Chinese. However, a Chinese does last me 2 meals, and I don't go barmy. It just doesn't taste so nice the next day, does it?

Hope everyone is well, feeling/getting better. I've not had time to go through 2 days threads, but I will catch up again tomorrow.

The distraction, btw - looks like I'm not single any more ...

So excited - my mum just rang to say she opened a letter addressed to me (i havnt lived there for 18 years!!!) and it turns out ive won £50 on the premium bonds!!!! I didnt realise i still had any - had some bought for me when i was born, and i know i dont have them now (the paper parts anyway). Well only taken 35 years to win something from them, but better late than never!!!

anniestar - glad you found the card, and hope phoebe is ok, i agree with the others, whoever pmed you should be ashamed of themselves - i wonder if its the same sole who upset PP for no reason!!!!
