Morning All - before and after me

    SWEET PEA – Happy Birthday!

Still dry here, whether it lasts or not is a very good question. Just popping in before w*r* goes crazy as won't have time later.

    (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) all round

Re the case comment catznine (glad you are enjoying your hols), has anyone else noticed that the small hand baggage cases you buy (and I mean the small ones) are still just slightly over what all the budget airlines specify, and they are all different!!
Then when you get to the airport complying completely, you find other with cases much larger than the ones you "couldn't use" being allowed on:eek:

Keep on with the No Smoking Oops a Daisy, you are doing well.

OK time's run out, take care all

    Good morning everyone

It's dark and wet here today. :( I miss warm sunny days.

(((hugs))) to those who are having trouble sleeping.
catznine hope you get to Georgia in one piece. Sounds like you are having a fabulous time.
oopsadaisy (((hugs))) on the job front and Well Done :T on the no-smoking front. Try not to feel too down. Something will turn up when you least expect it.

SweetPea happy birthday. Have a lovely day.

I have made a salad for my lunch today and it looks scrumptious. Also made a fruit salad and had some for brekkie with some strawberry yoghurt. Have put some in a bowl for DD too. She is still in bed as I'm trying to give her as much sleep as possible in preparation for today's SATs. Will get her up in about 10 mins.

Got myself organised yesterday for dinner today - a hm bacon and mushroom sauce with chicken and bacon tortellini. also have a garlic baguette that needs using so dinner is taken care of. Dessert will be the remainder of Queenie's strawberry fool that I made yesterday. DD wasn't too keen on it (she isn't overly fond of cream) but DS was very enthusiastic so I don't see any problem in getting it used up today.

W**k today - expecting the usual, i.e., I go into the office intending to catch up on lots of little outstanding jobs but end up dealing with all the stuff that my dear boss throws at me. He is a great boss so I don't really mind. ;) Need to sort out holidays too as the half term is coming up and it isn't too long until the summer holidays either.

    Have a wonderful Wednesday. xx

    Morning Guys!

Kiwi-Chick: Lovely to hear from you hun and sorry to hear about your situation. Of course you can open an account, infact I would recomend that everyone have a private account-you never do know whats around the corner. Im on MSN later today, so if you need a chat..I'm here! I have some experiance in these situations. Chin up!

OH has left to take DD to school and then he has some tests being done at the hospital as he has been having chest pains. I think its just stress but the GP has given him a full MOT. So I am here all alone...well with my course books anyway. OH made me a flask and a sarnie before he left:D

Making an appointment to see DD's head of year for this week and hopefully we can sort out her vision concerns. She has a non uniform day today and she looks so grown up:o ...im getting old!

WM is on, DW will go on later and toilet cleaned. House is clean and tidy.

    Anyway, I must crack on.

    Hugs to all.

    Morning everyone

I'm still stiff from waterskiing, I feel really unfit

We are going to make an offer on a house today, I have to walk up and deliver it (sealed bids today) feeling very excited/nervous/anxious/confused/happy about the whole thing for lots of different reasons.

Today need to do cleaning, do some work stuff, list some things on Amazon, washing, ironing, menu planning for next week maybe. Meeting some friends at the pub later.

Hugs to everyone and in particular kiwichick and oops a daisy

Have a good day everyone x

    Hi Old Stylers,

I've not been around for a while and know its a bit cheeky to now be posting asking for your help but I could really do with some advice. I have a thread here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=5192042#post5192042 explaining a little more. If anyone is able to help I'd really appreciate it.

    Love and hugs to all,
    Al.

KIWICHICK - Welcome; nice to meet you. Sorry to hear that your marriage is in trouble. Just because you're a stay at home mum doesn't mean you haven't been working or earning! You have every right to money of your own and a bank of your own. After all, you've been running the house and looking after three children! The toughest job of all! If I was you, I would open an account asap - most of them I think you can open with £1.00. Take a look at all the banks' websites. It's hard to recommend any particular bank. DH and I have banked with LLoyds TSB for years but that hasn't stopped us claiming back unfair charges on two accounts - one of which has just refunded! My own personal account is with the Halifax and I've always been really pleased with it. You can bank online and by telephone as well as the branch. If you need to keep your account away from your DH, if you have an account that you can access online (like Halifax) you don't need to worry about statements etc coming through the post. The only drawback with Halifax is that they now make you wait six days to clear a cheque - something I intend to take up with them because it's not fair. I keep thinking I'll move the account but they have been really good. My pay was a week late being paid in once and nine direct debits bounced! The charges were horrendous but, when I explained what had happened, they took them off and were really kind in the way they dealt with me so I have a sense of loyalty with them!
Anyway, I hope things look up for you but definitely open your own account - you're entitled to it and it certainly is not stealing to put some money away for yourself! Gool luck!

    Morning

hugs to all - but especially Kiwichick, you have been going through it recently. Get that account opened and I'm sure once you start getting yourself sorted you'll feel a little more in control. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles.

All our money is completely joint (just a big pot that gets spent) but I wouldn't hesitate to start building an "F U Fund" as moggins calls it if things started to look iffy.

Well, having not slept for two hours during the night I awoke to DS shouting that he was thirsty. Groaned and then looked at the clock to see that it was 7:15. Aaaargh. Cue much rushing around and grumpy children who didn't know what was going on. Luckily I pretty much sort them out the night before. DH has taken them off to Gran's and because I work flexi time I now have the house to myself so I'm sitting here with hair in a towel and dressing gown on. Lovely!

Work today. Then I need to pack our suitcases for the weekend. We're off to london to celebrate DSs 5th birthday (My baby!). I won't get a chance after tonight.

    Take care all.

    Happy Birthday SweetPea

    Morning All

    Happy Birthday SweetPea

    (((oops a daisy)))

Kiwichick - PP gave good advice (((hugs))) for you too.

Dull and overcast here in Essex. Have loads of washing to do but think will concentrate on the bedding today as that can go in the washing machine. WM already on, DW emptied & kitchen tidied. Also when I was in the shower this morning I bleached half the grouting, will probably do the rest at the weekend.

Taking DS to school in the car this morning because need to go to Docs to change over DD's medicine then a local village to get some flowers for a friends birthday tomorrow. When I get home also need to phone the bank as the business account has gone over the overdraft limit but my clients are paying tomorrow - hate doing that - they make me feel so small.

Some office work to do later and will also try and pop back on here to catch up with yesterdays thread.

Best be off - need to dry and straighten my hair.

    Have a great day.

    Good morning :)
Happy Birthday SweetPea! :) Hope you have a great day.
Am not taking any money with me today as I've spent far too much later :( I need to take a direct debit form to the bank though and I've got to sort out practises and all such things like that.
Hope everyone has a great day!

    Mornin,

Hope you early birds got back to sleep. Sunny day here which is a surprise. Off to Mine Howe this morning which is the mystery of the 29 steps.:D
Then off to Kirkwell to hit the shops. ;)

    Sweet Pea Happy Birthday. :bdaycake:

Kiwi Sorry to hear that you are going through a rough patch. I often wondered what you were up to. Hope you get the account sorted asap. And it's not stealing. ((((hugs)))) to Jet & Oopsadaisy as well.

Donny-gal Yes I have noticed. I took a tape measure when I bought my hand luggage to check if it was the right dimensions. The thought of it being refused was too much. What a carry on.

Anyway must get a move on. HOpe you all have a great day. Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
