Hello

Crikey you've been busy!! Well done on the spending and not spending!
Sounds like you've found the solution for any nights out too!
Well done on walking to work! I'm sure you feel heaps better for it. Have been looking at bicycles over the last few days, and think I'm gonna treat myself. Considering I don't have to fork out for a car then I may as well. Had been borrowing OHs once a week for work but it died and has gone to the bicycle heaven. Or hell. I dunno!!
(sounds like you can climb out from under that rock, Lucky!!! :rotfl:)Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hip flasks are the way forward - the men put them in their kilts - sorted ;-)
Thanks HAW! You should, you should try and get it on the cycle to work scheme, such good value and sometimes you get extra vouchers free to spend in accessories! Especially when you don't use a car! Good for environment AND your pocket!
Well it turned out my amazing necklace was £30 but I got it for half price! Then with my vouchers cost me £9! Cost £6.99 for my photos, £1 for a bag of 4 pink lady apples from market and top in to get altered - I think that is £8. Also had to top up lottery fund - £10!
The top is really smart and nice for work! but very good quality would never be able to buy for £8 so I figure its better to pay to alter!
So today's total spend £34.99! I am happy with this spend! Xx0 -
So... Can you tell my hubby is working away?
Can you tell that I've spent the weekend with most of my friends, therefore I've no other nights out?
How can you tell? As I am torturing the land of DFW's - that's how!
My chilli was not ready in the slow cooker tonight, so going to leave it on overnight
so the sausage and mozzarella bake is currently getting made. Tried to make enough for some leftovers tomorrow. Sitting chilling with a glass of red wine (which i forgot was still open from weekend)
Wait for it...my friend in work brought the girls in some CAKE. So I've got a modest wee chunk of that for dessert. How much cake can a gal have?
Anyway only downer is i HIGHLY doubt my creme fresh and guacamole is going to last until tomorrow, thats it open a full week - not sure how you tell?! Still looks alright. Not going to bother until tomorrow, as If I decide tonight, I'll buy some, when it was only supposed to be an extra.
Donated my clothes to the homeless shelter, the people who volunteer there are SOOOOO nice. Thank god there are people like that in this world! Think once I get myself sorted I will give some time back, for just now though, its my clothes and accessories! x0 -
All good stuff :T

Cannae beat free cake! So today lunch has been sorted! Leftover pasta, crisps, apple and a cereal bad left over from weekend! Tonight the chocolate cake will be opened!
Meeting some friends tonight so hopefully my expenditure will be restricted to a coffee! No cake as I have the choc cake in the house and no food as I have some chilli sitting waiting on me! Plan to do as I have done every other day and take leftovers for lunch next day! One more day to her through and ill be on to Saturday! May cave tonight and buy some salad and hummus! I miss hummus!
Erm what else? Opened some spare savings accounts online. With view that when I pay for something out of my own account that is joint, instead of transferring back to my account, ill transfer to the savings account and hopefully some wee savings will mount up!
Also opened a Slosh Account, will budget for the month and them transfer what I think i will need to that account! Then use that card. Hopefully that will be more of a target to not spend it! X0 -
Hello all! Still tormenting you! Currently en route home!
Spend today:
3.50 Starbucks Frapp
1.00 iPhone cover
1.00 Bike cover
6.38 boxes for 2 friends presents
2.44 ribbon for 2 friends presents
iPhone cover was a total unnecessary buy! But it was cute and I needed something for my phone for nights out when it is not sitting in its sock!
Frappichino was purchased via a wowcher from before £10 spend for £5. Have 6.50 left...
Was going to buy a bike cover from Argos at £10, but saw the £1 version and thought I would give that a try.
Had to talk myself out of a couple of things in the pound shop - the pound shop. How I walked out of there after spending only £2 was a miracle, I used to always spend £8-£15, but I walked away from the tea lights and a bike chain and photoframes! In my head I hear myself saying its a bargain that i won't get again. But I will!
Boxes are to dress up some gorgeous gifts I got and got my sister to paint some stuff for it! Costs more than I wanted but I think some gorgeous packaging sets the tone for a good gift.
I didn't spend what I used to on presents. I won't go into why again...you all know why. I keep needing to rein it back in, what they are getting is amazing and looks 3 times what it actually cost me. But I still feel cheap. All the time I feel cheap! I need to get past this!!!
Anyway chilli was FAB, googled if creme fresh would be good after a week and was told as long as it smells and looks good its fine! And you guessed it - LEFTOVERS for tomorrows lunch!
Had some choc bikkies for dessert, so chocolate cake will be coming as dessert for tomorrow. I WILL eat this cake before the 21st. Delighted that I have got by not actually buying any food xx0 -
I have been a BAD girl. BAD. And you know what - I wasn't going to post about it. After tormenting everyone all week on how good I have been. BOAK.
But what does that achieve? Post when I am good disappear when I am bad? I am like these people who, once they start, cannot stop. Except not booze or drugs. Spending. ££££
Sooooo it all started with £1.50 on a replacement zip for a dress I have. Lovely plain black work dress, but zip burst (I'm carrying a few extra pounds). Take that to the alterations place. Figure I would rather spend money on getting stuff repaired than buying something new. Dress is in good condition and would easily last me another year. :j
Brilliant. Next I thought Ill pop back in to M&S to see if my necklace I bought the other day had went into the sale, It had now... £7.50 from £30!!! I thought I was getting a bargain at £15! Sooooo thought I'll buy it again, take the full price one back. Brilliant.
But then there was this huge shopper bag that I was going to buy at end of June (June pay) as its big but gorgeous and I thought it would be great if I could take that as my handbag on my weekend away - put everything in it. But could not justify £79 for it. And well there was only one left that was in the sale at £39 from £79. And they say its only a bargain if you were actually going to buy it before....and well I was... so I bought that aswell. £46.50 in M&S.
So now I currently have 2 necklaces (one of which I am taking back) to get my £15 refunded. And a bag. _pale_
So then as if that was not bad enough I am walking by Primark and see a skirt that I had borrowed off my mate on holiday. Loved it then, these long maxi skirts. They didn't have her colour but they had a lovely black one - £10. So went in, tried it on and it looked great. Purchased. On route to till seen this big beaded necklace, normally not a fan of Primark jewellery, but this was a good one, and was thinking with my new bag, new skirt, some wedges and a wee black vest top that would look amazing. So £15 spent in Primark. _pale_
THEN as if £46.50 in M&S and £15 in Primark was not bad enough I popped into a shop and bought a bottle of juice for £1.10! Total spend £62.60. Not including the cost of alteration I still need to pay.
I am not taking any of it back. I stand by my bad decisions. And I LOVE THEM. I stuck to my rule of block colours, classic items, can easily be mixed and matched with any colour! I was nearly swayed by a multi colour maxi skirt and thought NO Bad Weather. Put that back you silly mare. :rotfl:
Anyway onto more positive steps. I really want to start getting healthy again. I've enjoyed this scrimping week and eating cake like it was apples, I was like a prolonged holiday. When the hubby is away...Bad Weather plays...nope...actually SLOBS.
But a girl I know just go married the other day and she is one of the most beautiful brides. And she has worked so hard to be healthy and I want to be like that. Can scrimp and be healthy.
Positive things:- Taking 1st necklace back so should get £15 refunded. So if you deduct what I have saved on the necklace (£22.50), considering I was prepared to pay full price(£30), the bag has really only cost me £16.50. If you think about it....
- Shopping list has been made for Tesco's tonight - I am caving and doing some shopping. Will let you know what the total comes to. Think it will be quite expensive as I have washing powder, fabric softer, toilet roll etc on the list.
- Going to continue using up food so if the weather stays good I think I will have a yummy Halloumi salad for tomorrows lunch! Halloumi is already in the fridge.
- Need to get boots re-heeled aswell - But will take them to the wee shop next to my mums. See above as good boots not being worn.
- Opened new ISA that kept meaning to open for better rate - 0.5% better interest rate I think. Postal account though - the only annoying thing about it.
- Done a budget for next month, think with everything I have got on I will need £450 total. That is me factoring in NO surprise expenditure and NO going over budget. If I do - I am in trouble. I am going to move that into another account that I have named the Slosh Account. And hopefully I will just carry that bank card around with me. Might need to note in my phone how much I have budgeted for each event.
- I found a vintage style paisley print dress from Warehouse that still has all the tags on it. Bought AGES ago. Anyway OH sister in law lives in Australia and is exactly her style, so she will 100% be getting it as a Christmas present. £20 saved.
