Hello from the north! (I'll assume you're in the south coz you've quoted € rather than £) :D

As beanielou says, if you cut down on entertainment or drinks or clothes for a couple of months, you could really knock a huge chunk off the debt.

I spent a lot of years in my overdraft. It's sooooooo good not to have that any longer. I've it set to £50 limit as a 'just in case', but have never had to use it.

I'm currently saving for anything/nothing/something at the minute! I'm just enjoying the fact all my money is my own and I don't owe anyone anything :D Great feeling!!

My motto at the minute is that if I don't have the cash, I do without! ;)

Another suggestion is you maybe join the NSD challenge. It's a brilliant motivator for me and [STRIKE]stops[/STRIKE] postpones all those unnecessary spends! Here is the link.

Good luck and I'm subscribing!! :D

Hey head above water! Thanks so much for all you guys subscribing! I feel loved :o

I tend to have small spend days.. Todays spends amounted to well, 10c for me at work and €8 the OH spent on fire materials!

So, Oh got his benefit today, €180. Planning on putting most of it in our pot..

I've found that buying meat deals at the butchers for around €15 and buying veggies/canned goods etc at lidl/aldi is the best way forward for us!

I'm planning a weekend of sitting in my house. I've overtime to work on saturday morning 9-2pm (to keep me outta them shops :D ) and then I have a bottle of wine in the fridge! Thinking of doing the weekly shop on sunday and maybe a wee fun run out to the beach (its 20 minutes away) to get out of the house and dust the cobwebs off!

God knows how much I've spent on nights out etc recently  I think I'm just trying to live up to everyone elses lifestyle. My best friend is a teacher and earns €50 an hour.. I on the other hand earn €9! :o Definitely time to nip it in the bud!

Tomoro is friday and I have a regular dental appointment tomoro, hoping its not too much as I have a little set aside for it! OH is making the dinner here, chicken curry made out of cupboard essentials for a nice relaxing supper!

So I took myself to the bank today before the dentist, lodged in all of my accounts :

€605.44 in current (600 coming out on 18th for rent, I get paid on the 19th

My credit card balance stands at €459.53 exactly! I'll be happy once its all paid off!

€25 in savings account (a pittance really)

    €200 in our wedding fund!

€100 spent on the dentist today, €10 on petrol, €2 on breakfast (for my last meal :rotfl:) and €11 on coal!

Thats me all up to date! :T

So happy I know all the exact figures, gives me a bitta piece of mind!

Hey! Back on to declare spendies!

Well I've spent €10 since I last updated here, OH wanted some money to get treats since we are staying in this weekend.. Planning on having a quiet night in myself, I have lots of streaming tv online to catch up on!

OH has also been called about a Job in New Zealand! TBH, it's not somewhere I ever seen myself going. In our heads, if we move somewhere, the wages have to be fantastic in order for us to move, plus we want to get married and get a house deposit together so it's a lot to think about!

On other news, trying to find something to wear to a friends wedding in June. Going to start scouring the charity shops nearby as I can't really afford to buy anything new!

I did 10.5 hours overtime this week so I'm hoping to see a wee bump in my wages this week, although with the tax man, it might all be eaten up! I'm hoping there is overtime available for the next two weeks as I have a planned trip to birmingham to visit a friend (flights were €30, a pure steal :P ) so I'm hoping overtime can be my spending money!

Thanks hiddenidentity! Hows things going with you??

Well, another quiet day in our house.. Just went out and did the weekly shop there.. €21.54 in tesc*** and €12.66 in ald*i as well. With 17c change left for the rest of the week :O

I have an emergency €5 in my current account that may have to go towards petrol for our car to ensure I get to work and back til the end of the week!!

So, I shall be having a long no spend week, which is fine by me, as I have no cash left LOL

Hoping that the boss man says there is lots of overtime available this week when I go into work tomoro.. It would be excellent.. Overtime I did this week will pay for last months and this months phone bill for both me and OH.. Can't wait till june until I can phone them up to cancel our contracts!

In other moneysaving news, I've decided to try and shrink, and fit into a dress for my friends wedding that I have here at the house. I'm hoping no one will notice its an older dress, it's a fairly regular shape and would mean that I don't have to buy a new one!! Don't get me wrong, what girl doesn't like a new party dress but I'd feel bad even buying one from a charity shop if me and the OH can save a bit of money! OH is best man, so he is getting his suit paid for by groom and since the hotel they are getting married in is in our town, we don't have to fork out for a hotel and can come home afterwards!

  • Fingers crossed for lots of overtime :)

Sounds like you'll already be saving quite a bit with this wedding coming up which is fab. Every little helps though too, right?! ;)

Good luck on your NSDs this week! Only having 17c available is a good incentive :rotfl:

yep head above water, its awesome... However.....

my oh went and put €25 into the car today while I was at work out of our account.. which means i have got to magic €20 back into my current account to pay the rent thursday... i personally had a nsd.... i still have my 17c cos I've decided to cut back on drinking tea at work.

I found a dress to wear to my friends wedding that I already have, just need a wee gold fascinator to go with it!!

Another lovely lsd.. 10c on a cup of tea at work!! I always try to take leftovers for my lunch.. saves on time in the morning!!

Nothing else to report apart from stating that 9 hours of overtime will be done this week so I have spending money for going to birmingham in a few weeks time!

Another LSD to report, spent €1 at work for a charity bun run.. Now the buns hurt my teeth but damn they were worth it!

Also did 2 hours overtime today to put towards my trip to brummy.. I'm so excited, can't wait to see my friend. Going to go through MSE to see what things can you do on the cheap over in Birmingham!

I'm mad to have a look at engagement rings in the jewellery quarter but I don't think my two male best friends would appreciate it very much!

Sausage, carrots and potatoes for dinner tonight and I'm thinking for lunch tomorrow that I might have some boiled potatoes, boil an egg and have tuna and salad as well. Going to eat my fill tomoro as going back to the orthodontist on friday to get the ole braces done!

Still haven't found any nice headpieces to go with my dress for my friends wedding.. I also have to factor in a wedding present! Is €150 for a couple stingy?? It's really stretching the budget for me and my OH but at the end of the day, we won't be giving them a present as such and I know they aren't going on honeymoon so this might get them a nice night away somewhere?

Need to meal plan for next week as well. Going to have to make soup over the weekend to help with the old braces pains and use up what I have in our not very well stocked cupboards! Not looking forward to getting paid on friday, I hate seeing my money just go in and out of my account so fast!
