I had the print out of the bar code, and also the confirmed sales order, and all she done was stamp the sales order print out???
was she suposed to have scanned/kept the barcode sheet????Work to live= not live to work0 -

Ummm, "barcode"?
I put the confirmed sales order in one of the sealed mail bags and put a "P" on the PPI label to mark which one it's in. My PO lady attaches a red cross to each bag to show that they were handed in a PO (they're just on a clip) and that's it. No paperwork for the PO. Same thing happened at another PO I went to last week.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
I just staple the sales order to the tag on one of the bags and put the bags in the P.O. stockroom - I don't even get a cross or anything to show that I handed the bags in!0

My PO lady attaches a red cross to each bag to show that they were handed in a PO (they're just on a clip) and that's it. No paperwork for the PO. Same thing happened at another PO I went to last week.
The red cross (if it's a little cardboard tag similar to the ones you are all ready putting on the bag) means revenue protection will check the mail.
The collections driver should be scanning the barcode on the paperwork printed off from the OBA, no barcode to scan = red crossed.

I don't really know either - but I have been dropping bags off at the P.O. for almost 2 months now without a hitch.
The first time I brought my bags down the Post Office phoned their Head Office to find out what they should be doing, and they were told nothing!0 -
I phoned the OBA help line number, and they said I should have put the summery barcode and the report sheet in the bag, which then I presume I cable tie the ppi second class label too.Work to live= not live to work0

I had a phone call out of the blue today from my Royal Mail business manager (I didn't know I had one!)
He said that based on my shop purchase history and from my sales that they can see I would be better off with a business account- he has offered me 54p for 2nd class large letter, £1.80 for parcels up to 1kg (larger size than small parcels over the counter)

Those are packetpost rates which require 5K a year spend but also include volume discounts, for example 250-749 larger letters on a docket sees 1.3% deducted off the price. With packetpost there are (currently) no medium and large parcels, just letter (for which you are better off using STL code) Large Letter and Packets.
You can also average the weights across weight bands (something you can not do with the BPL code) meaning 1 x 500g packet and 1 x 1400g packet becomes 2 x 950g parcels both costing just £1.80 each 2nd Class.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Just the add the prices they've quoted you don't include the fuel surcharge (I think it's 2 or 3%) and VAT is add after this so if you aren't VAT registered then BPL code on the basic account is cheaper.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
