And (last Q about international packets...maybe) do you just put all the OLA stuff in a bag with, what, a red "1st Class" label, or am I supposed to have something different that indicates international?

I have larger white labels for STL with Airmail and 'International STL' on them, you can order them online - I had to order some more recently, they took about 10 days to arrive...
Give them a call see what they say?

It's a white international tag with STL in the middle for OLA coded Airmail, you can order from the OBA mail supplies under international products and they are called: "50 x International Letters Airmail Bag Labels A bundle of 50 International Standard Tariff Letters Airmail bag labels (P6138C)"

    Beat me to it!

Re. the airmail thing - can you just put a 1st Class PPI on and add a "by air" sticker?

Yeap just the normal 1st Class PPI (don't use 24-48) but it doesn't need the "delivered by Royal Mail" bit on for Airmail.

To save time these are good: http://www.ppi-labels.co.uk/id108.html

Always takes a while for the supplies to arrive, best to stock up and reorder in advance but they don't mind how much you order.

Thanks, I have ordered some. In the meantime, I've sent an item today with a red bag label with "1st Class" scribbled out and "AIRMAIL" written on it. I put the sales order in that bag so fingers crossed. :o (Postie and Postmistress seemed to think it was OK).

Yes, thanks, I have used them for 1st/2nd and 24/48 labels but I don't send many international at the moment so I'll just stick a 1st on it and an airmail sticker.

Should be fine for Airmail, if the local depot tip the bags then 1st and Airmail go in the same trolley anyway.

As an aside, on those Airmail labels from the PPI guys, should anyone buy I'd go with the colour ones as I'm sure the workers are looking our for the blue label more than anything.

I have a bad feeling about a buyer in Slovakia and want to send her the item with tracking.
When I look at the OBA I can send Europe signed for or Airsure? What is the difference and how do I do it?!

You cannot send to Slovakia via Airsure. If you try and put those labels on the parcel will be returned to you as 'incorrect service' and you *may get a £25 fine.

Just remember that ISF doesn't always track outside of the UK.

I used online chat this morning with an OBA rep - he was very helpful and talked me through it.

I sent the item via international signed for in the end.
I can sense that I will have problems with the buyer so tracking may help...
