    Soulie - great news :D

Ailsb, sorry, never used magic aida. When washing in machine I tend to not spin the load, as the creases are a pain to iron out.

There is a just giving page set up for Help for Heroes in memory of Lee Rigby, link is here if anyone would like to donate:

beg a month for new threads to arrive is far too long IMHO

Thanks for that fos. Thought I was just getting a bit grumpy with old age and all that. Wouldn't have minded if it had just been getting added to stash. The bit I am up to on current project has quite a large area of solid confetti type stitches with loads of back stitching so I don't want to start leaving bits till later otherwise I wont know where the heck I'm up to. Difficult to mark the copy with all fractionals and backstitch. Anyhow its all good atm as I picked the colour up from town this morning so its all systems go. :)

    1. Any ideas how I can get rid of the gridlines? Should I risk washing again?
    2. How can I remove the creases from the fabric?

Word of warning, unless your design is going to cover all of your materialbyhink carefully about usinv Magic aida.

I'm using it for my HAED and I tested a piece when I stitched that MP cottage from one of the magazines around last November.

I seem to recall the instructions said to soak it in cold water. That's what I did with the MP piece. It took a LONG time, but the lines did fade away completely. Maybe try that? Just hope the lines haven't *set* in warmer water :(

    Me again - sorry.

I really need some advice. I hand washed m turtle and the lines didn't come out. I stitched it on DMC magic aida. I checked online and it said to machine wash at 40degrees, so I put in it a pilowcase with another large piece of aida that needed its fold line removing and washed it. End result is lines have faded but I can still see them and I now have 2 pieces of fabric full of creases that won't iron out.

Off to Cubs now to carry on sulking. One things for certain I'm not going to stitch it again I hated the last few weeks of stitching it.

Oh no Ailsb - bet you feel totally fed up. I have toyed with the idea of using Magic Aida in the past but somehow just haven't got around to it. Think I will be steering well clear now of that and the marker pens. I have tried the tacking stitch method and not had much success with that either. I'll just keep on counting (and recounting) :D.

Hope you manage to have some success in removing the marks and creases.

Nmm, Ohh good luck to her :T

Caroline, Wow, wow, wow! That is amazing, getting more tempted each time you update. Will the finished piece be for you?

Winnie, great news on the job. However does that reduce your stitching hours?

Ails, enjoy your holiday :j Sorry to hear about the magic lines not disapearing on your aida, I hope the lady's ideas may budge it.

Shelly, thanks. Its annoying more than anything. None of my family could tell untill I pointed it out to them so it can't be that bad. Maybe its because I am a profectionist.

FOS, Oh how facinating about the dye changes, you could be right. I don't know for definate but I am sure that skein was purchased pre 2012 so you could be right.

BEG, thanks for posting that picture. Its quiet a lot smaller than I imageined it would be. Not that cover kits are huge ;) I might just pass on that magazine but thanks ever so for posting the picture :D

Small amount of stitching done this week, not much as its my 'hard' week at work. Planning to make up for it over the weekend ;)

    Firstly...BRILLIANT news Soulie...xx

Now, can't remember who said what...lol

But, I don't pick up Santa unless I am settled in for the evening so I am stitching for a few hours at a time, so quite easy to count the time.

Stitch count is easy too as I counted each page before I started so only do a total when a page is finished...

When finished it will be a present for my Mum. I am thinking of maybe getting it made into a firescreen for her as a present, but still not sure....Ideas welcome...lol...xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
