    Hi Claire,

I've been given a stack of xs mags and I'm pretty sure there are some copies of Cross Stitch Gold among them. Which year was issue 57 published, I'll have a look (the stack goes back to 1999 :rotfl::rotfl: so a clue on the year would be a help !)

    Linda xx

PS have you checked if the magazine itself has back copies of that issue that you could buy ?

Claire, sorry for taking so long. I went through my pile of old mags but only one was Cross Stitch Gold and issue 81, sod's law. Most of them are Cross Stitch Crazy.

I've looked on their website but they dont have it listed as a back issue you can order.

I haven't managed any stitching yet this weekend. Yesterday we made another run to the charity shop, then it was a flying visit to the shops before lunch at har vester - then more sorting out when we got back. enjoyed lunch but not as good as our previous visit and did to some extent feel rushed.

Today I got up late, caught up with BGT and have tidied
/spring cleaned the bedroom. I've started the WOXS crossword and I'm eyeing up the furry tales gardening mouse - its cute ....

I wish the weekends were longer! I hate that sunday evening feeling.

  • TMIF, really lovely design I agree with the others the colours are beautiful!

All this talk about sewing machines, I have been hand sewing a cover kit from Mollie Makes this weekend. The instructions tell you to sew on a sewing machine and gives approx 1hr from start to finish. So far I have been at it at least 3

Finally an update, this is where I was on the old thread and this is where I am now. Not much of an update but I am loving all the blue colours.

why oh why is my husband such an inconsiderate ****.

i said this morning it was pie and mash for tea. so he wastes half hour in Mr M hunting for a chicken pie with no onion in (impossible....which is why i was making it from scratch).

so then he tells me it has to have bacon in it (mine always do anyway).

roll forward to tea time.......i have cooked the chicken and bacon, cooked the potatoes and carrots....... almost finsihed the gravy..........
............................when he waltzes in and takes the pastry (ready rolled - yes i cheat).

then starts going on about seeing if he could line the dish with it (it was alrady full of the meat) - so i said no there's not enough.............. but nooooooo he still had to look to check i wasn't lying.
then cut a circle out of it and started greasing a baking tray............
..........................so i asked what he was doing and he replied "well you know how your pastry is always stodgy i'm trying something else"
.............**the pie contents almost got launched at his head***...

apparently he was cooking a 'pie lid'.

so i left the kitchen and told him to finish the tea .............. apparently that was me being childish.

eventually he stormed out the house in a mood because i had got offended and he can never do anything right
    .................well wouldn't you?????????

..........................he came back and ate it tho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :mad::mad:rant over:mad::mad:

    :mad::mad:uh oh another rant:mad::mad:

Just got humphry out to post to my friend.................I'm guessing a small child has been in my stitching. (sorry for the size)

I have thrown it in the washing machine in a temper.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • Oh my chicky, bloody husbands! Mines the same wouldn't mind but the only thing he could cook before he moved in with me was an omlette and even that he would put under the grill so he didn't have to flip it, now he thinks he's some kind of gourmet chef! I hope the green comes out! Sending you a massive hug x

Hugs Chicky. Mine has been annoying me today too.
Why is it so hard to find a pie without onion in? Hate the stuff, but almost every pie has it in. I *think* McDougall pies did a plain chicken one, but haven't seen it in tesc0 for ages. Thinking pie & mash is in order for Tuesday (St George's day). Or fish & chips? On St Patricks day we did the most Irish thing we could think of...and had a Mexican! Did eat soda farls for breakfast, though. Yum.

Must get out my Christmas abc again. Haven't stitched on it in weeks now. Also planning on starting the LK cat lessons soon, so I have something non Christmassy to stitch.

Not done any sewing again, have looked at the dressmakers daughter stash with an adoring look though :rotfl:

I started feeding a stray cat just before Christmas, she is very nervous of humans and can't get closer than a few feet from her.

She's had kittens in the last few days, but they are hidden very well in one of the hay lofts and I can't find them!

Pics will follow once they come out of hiding :D And then need to figure out how to catch her in a few months, need a trip to the vets to prevent any other litters (one lot I can cope with, but not more)

My hubby hates any veg, but Iceland have started doing a Greggs range and they have Chicken Slices and Steak ones, but like a pie only rectangle..lol. There is no veg in either of them and they are lovely.

I haven't done anything apart from stitch all weekend. I have been putting everything that isn't nailed down on eBay to try and raise the last few pounds needed for our holiday. Anyway went through my cross stitch and put some more of it on. I normally sell the chart and left over threads once I am finished and decided to do it with a kit I had nearly finished. Imagine my shock when I checked it on Thursday night and seen there was a lot more needing stitched than I had thought. It finished at teatime on Sunday so I spent all weekend stitching like mad to get it finished...Only finished it about twenty minutes ago...lol
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • Morning all

Hope your husband has realised the error of his ways Chicky this morning ;) mine wouldn't dare interfere or complain as he knows what answer he would get ;)

Hoping your stain came out I can feel your pain. Keep all my bits zipped up in a large holdall but the little monkeys get everywhere don't they x
