Eek, £299.13/£300 for June but my stores shopping has pushed me over the 50% mark for the mid-year point against my annual target. That said, three weeks away with no grocery shopping should bring us back into line by end of August so not panicking yet. And I do have a whole 16kg sack of flour in my stores.
My June figure could have been much worse but I just did not shop last weekend at all and we have managed on what was here and growing in the garden and hedgerow.
Well done whether you achieved your target or not this month - knowing what your behaviours are is at least half the battle in my view!
All the best

Spent another £6.18 so we are bang on budget this month so far. Hoping we don't need to spend anything else, don't think we need anything else so should all be fine.
Will be sorting out slow cooker soup later for dinner.

Now slightly over budget as bought the B1G2F weekend deal on J20 at the C*-*P, for weekend treats/birthday treat for DD1. Haven't been spot on or slightly under once yet, even if only slightly overGC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £69.15/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. bluegreen - wraps look really good.
Doris 65 - I have 17 tins of tomatoes and 16 of tomato soup in the wardrobe plus loads of other items !!!
I didn't use the cottage cheese up that I said was a few days out of date last week, when looked properly it is the 30th June and not what ever I thought it said so quiche will be made tomorrow.
Went to A1di and spent £26.44 bit cross with myself because had I stuck to the list I would have spent just under £10 however I think they have had a new manager as the fruit & veg has improved so brought some apples, satsumas, tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, strawberries and lettuce that don't usually buy from there. Then onto Morri$ons and spent £12.04 Tomorrow all I need is a paper so am adding 90p to today’s total as that will be it this month and so am declaring at £208.36 - £11.64 under budget.Fruit & veg accounts for the highest % again.
Pleased with this as last month was a large overspend.
Over to July now. Good luck to all those who have yet to finish June.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
£21.14 for this weeks shop - we got quite a lot for the money as we were helped quite a lot by some coupons/vouchers. I'm going to be bit naughty and take £10 from July budget as June is 5 weeks and July 4 weeks for us so a but more realistic. May have to start taking account of the number of weekly shops in each month after July.
So, June spends = £170.59/£170 for 5 week month for 2 people - not bad!0 -
So my meal plan got changed around. Yesterday I did the Chicken and pepper stir fry with cashew nut and coriander rice.
Have a last minute plan to meet up with some friends tomorrow at a nice Italian in Dulwich village so didn't fancy doing pasta tonight.
Instead I am now doing grilled fish with Jersey royals and broccoli for dinner.
Pasta with tuna/peppers etc will be on the menu next week though because I don't 'do' waste :rotfl:
So with that I shall update my final spends:
£6.84 in Mr S today
£2.60 in Mr S yesterday
So that brings £9.44 to my existing spend of £113.21, so declaring £122.65//£130. Under budget so pleased. Now I just need to work out how to decrease the other spends...
Entertainment has gone through the roof, and my next holiday needs to be a short, cheap one to keep to my annual budget, but at least clothing spends have decreased (but needs to be topped up very soon - will have to decrease entertainment to compensate).
What is it they say - a penny rich, a pound poor? Sums me up perfectly!
Sorry for waffling - onwards and upwards into July.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300
