I had half an hour to kill yesterday before going to pick up something from someone near Tesc0, so wound up going in. I had some vouchers to use up before next weekend, so decided to just use them now, and spent a grand total of £17, but only about £9.50 of that was on food. Not sure whether to include that in this months food budget, or take it from next month, as I bought it knowing I wouldn't eat any of it this month (except the Ben & Jerry's!!) and it's just food I would have bought next week anyway!0

I'm declaring at £194, £14 over my target of £180. I'm not beating myself up, happy to be under £200 and upping my budget to £200 for next month. I usually have a budget of £60 in my head each month for eating out but this month I'm counting that as £23, that includes a £1 bag of chips for me right at the start of the month, an Indian meal out for my daughters with some mates and some baked potato fillings we took for a shared meal with friends, so that's an improvement and overall a lower spend than hitting GC target and eating out more, last month £60 was one hit at Frankie's and Benny's.0

Icelandic cod bake, new potatoes, strawberry + champagne cheesecake and a bottle of rose for tea tonight - receipt says full price was £18.97... £10 in the deal but £5 to me HURRAH! thanks to your tip about the Groupon deal earlier this month!! :j
It all tastes so much better when it's cheap too he hee!!
You're very welcome!Reminds me that I need to use mine up soon tbh. :j
Few spends to report:
£1.25 in Costcutter
£0.28 in Mr S (part paid with Nectar points)
£0.69 in Mr S
£0.50 in the corner shop
£2.28 in the corner shop (on unsalted cashew nuts for Saturday nights meal)
Meals this week have been/will be:
Monday (housemate cooked) - Chicken with RTC broccoli stir fry in a soy and sriracha sauce
Tuesday (housemate cooked) - Stuffed peppers (turkey mince, dill, other spices - was a batch in the freezer from a couple of weeks ago), cooked in passata served with roasted tomato and onion couscous and broccoli
Wednesday (housemate cooked) - Turkey mince meatball curry served with rice
Thursday (I cooked) - Mango chutney chicken served with spring onion and coriander couscous
Friday (I'll cook) - Tuna, Pepper, Olive, Tomato and Jalapeno pasta
Saturday (I'll cook) - Stir fried chicken and peppers with cashew and coriander rice.
Found that turkey mince works a lot better in meatball format rather than just fried like beef mince. In a use up mood at the moment, and next week I'll need to do another stock up since I'm running the meat stores completely bare!Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300
