Nipped to A1di, and spent £15.39 of my remaining £15 for the month, so not bad at all. I've bought lots of fruit for breakfast, I have 3 pieces of fruit for my lunch box, low fat yoghurts for desserts, and I'll be eating chilli and freezer food for dinners.0

Hello all!
Just got back from a mini-break in France. Stayed with some friends who live there so just paid for a cheap flight, entrance to chateaux, and treated them to a nice meal/drinks in a restaurant. Got driven around and provided with with lovely wine and home cooked food in the evenings.
I DID break the rule to cut down cheese/red meat, but hey, it's a holiday, and I'm back on the wagon this week.
Having said that, I weighed myself anticipating that I would have gained weight, but I actually lost just over half a stone the past 4 days! Which makes me think that the weight gains I get is probably due to my new (slight) addiction to Brewdog and other pale ales! :rotfl:Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Hello, I've spent £14.27 in Sains this morning which puts me over my £180 budget, I have £8 worth of unopened breakfast cereals, some bought today and some earlier in the month as they were on offer, so a little bit tempted to say that's for July
not going to though. . .
Bought big tub Basics ice cream for 89p, Basics stuffing for 15p and Cranberry sauce for 50p. 2.5kg potatoes for £1.19. 48 proper Weetabix for £3 reduced from £4.19, 40 snack sausage rolls for £2.
Spent £19 altogether but took off £5 with nectar card.
Disappointed to have bust budget but had already decided to put it back up to £200 next month, will still try and come in under £190 this month, still a great amount compared to more than twice that last year.
Plus haven't spent as much on eating out, leaving some of the budget in my head left over, and I've been car booting and ebaying for the first time ever so that has been a good boost, been working really hard and will hit £1,000 mark before month is out. Need to lie down for a week though x0 -
A trip to Lidl as it opened at 10am was productive, lots of 30% off meat stickers so I had chipolatas, a whole chicken (2.50) and 2 lots of steak mince. They reduce stuff the day before its BBE which is good.
The cherry toms on the vine are a huge tub for 74p plus I got 8 packs of the 17p dark chocolate. I make chocolate roulade with it - good for when we have visitors as I will just need to buy cream at 89p as we have hens.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Afternoon All
Final spend of my June GC this morning at Ald* = £38.20. Brings my result to £334.77/£280. Never mind. I've totalled my spends over last four months since I started GC against total budgets for that period and I'm £9.23 under overall. My average monthly spend is £292.31, so I'm setting next month's budget at £300. Seems realistic for me.
Rain and more rain here, got fed up with fetching washing in, finally gave up and put in tumble dryer, now it looks like it's brightening up :rotfl:.
Right, best get on. Choice of cleaning front room or bathroom or ironing. The excitement of my life is hard to take.
Love to all. I'm off to July GC, hopefully better weather over there.

So our second month of grocery challenge has all gone horribly wrong! Well sort of-I think we are likely still within budget but I don't know as we have totally failed at keeping track this month oops! Mostly because I went away on some last minute field work and had to leave the other half in charge so he did a top up shop and didn't keep the receipt & I did another small one and also didn't keep track of it at all (waiting for it to show up on my bank statement!). But we have made up for it a little bit by not doing any shopping other than bread and milk since I've come back as I decided we could live out of the freezer/cupboards until next Wed when we go to visit my family-so that should have kept us in budget still
Oh well we will try much harder next month now!

I order through Amazing and it is the Bacheldre Watermill flour. Excellent quality. I also buy my dry yeast through Amazing in bulk.
