Sea, I'm sorry about how the headmaster made you feel.....how horrible that he did that....  Don't let him get to you, it's probably his pathetic way of 'controlling' people, and he probably hides behind it because he knows he has no way of getting genuine respect from his staff.

I'm so glad you have had a productive evening to make up for it, I LOVE the idea of a love jar, and the journal idea is great too.

:hello: Hi Sea just dropped in to have a catch up I've been a naughty nerd and neglected my MSE duties recently! Sorry to hear your Head is giving you a hard time at the moment and hope you feel better soon :D

Sorry to read that you had a crappy day at work. You ARE valued as a teacher - the Head is not the only person at that school, he is just one bloke with one opinion.

Love the ideas for Christmas presents though - I could certainly do something like that, they look excellent!

I hope today is better for you - half term next week, so time for a break again!

    Thanks :)

I'm feeling a bit better about it now - just have to get my head down, do good work here and move on before it all puts me completely off teaching.

The jars do look good, don't they? Got the idea from the flylady clutter free christmas pressie ideas!

I'm so looking forward to half term - I think I was iller than I thought this week and just feel utterly exhausted! Need to write a scheme of work over half term as well, so need to get on with that so it's not dragging on throughout the whole holiday.

Will really try to do some ebaying as well though as need money in my paypal account again!

Sea, you ignore that stupid headmaster. What a tw*t he sounds.

Those journal-jars look fab, I'm definitely going to give a few. Have you had a through browse through that site? I just had a quick look and daren't spend longer as am in deadline hell today. If there's anything good beside the journal prompt thing, do share.

Glad you're looking forward to half term. I've reluctantly agreed to work four whole days in London and am really sad. Must must learn to plan my work better.

  • In my experience so far, headteachers are all especially stupid so i wouldn't take any notice. When I was at the doctors this week he cited the education system as being one of the worst for supporting staff. He also commented that many heads are "promoted to the highest level of their incompetence" and gave his opinion that many heads were terrible teachers and that's why they went for promotion - true in a number of cases I am aware of!

So take absolutley no notice of the silly little man!

    :)

I've been looking at the site a bit more tonight -t here are quite a few good things, but it's very easy to get sucked in and read too much! I prefer Flylady's way of one thing a day to prepare for the holidays :) She even has a little video and everything! :D

One thing I do like about it though is that it even has a menu plan grid t print off - I love stuff like that! Fortunately I'm out of ink at the moment otherwise I'd be printing like crazy!

Did you find that hamper thread Seaxwyn?

Right - got lots to do today:

*Sort Ebay toys and work out what will sell
    *Washing and line drying
    *Hoover upstairs
*27 fling boogie in the pantry which now has things that fall out of it whenever I open the door!
    *Washing up :)
*Wool shop - small needles for Sophia and some wool as well as some cheap wool for me to make a scarf for her dolly to match her scarf I just finished (after 2 yrs lol!).

Now, she has said that all her friends have admired and want her scarf (and a few of the mum's have commented that it's nice - it's just a plain knitted soft cream one, nothing fancy!) so I was thinking that as well as the birthdy presents I've already got them, I could knit them a little scarf too. Do you think this is stupid? I am not sure if it will be considered a bit odd, or whether it will be appreciated? In a bit of a quandry about it. I could make one for a bday party we are going to tomorrow- could do one in blue for the boy. Then next week we are going to another one and I could make, I don't know, a green or purple one? Or red? Not sure if it will be a good thing or considered rather sad - if you know what I mean - what do you think?

You should definately do it Sea, esp if Soph's friends have already said they like them.... and it is getting cold! I always think home made gifts are nice.... and very DFW!
