aww just caught this and SOOO sorry to hear you feel low.. I think we all are a bit & wondered today whether its the nights drawing in and our lack of summer that is making everyone feel a bit cheated plus constant mentions of Christmas makes us feel under pressure? Plus if Oh has been a pain, teacher nasty & all of you ill its bound to get you down! I'm just sorry I only just found your thread though as you've been such a support to me lately! Hi thanks you two - it is probably the weather. I think I need to start doing some exercise to make me feel a little more alive! I am also feeling a little down about ym job - when I used to teach in London, I always had job satisfaction and felt like I was actually making a difference - I did various different things with the kids, not jsut teaching (was co-ordinator of various schemes etc) and I've realised that I'm just not going to get those opportunities at the school I'm at now. It's all left me feeling rather helpless. I talked to my mum about it and she said the best way to make me feel better is action, but I'm not sure what action to take at all.

Are there many other schools nearby Sea? Could you start looking for something else? Sometimes just forming a plan of action can make you start to feel a bit better.
I do think the weather is a lot to do with it too - me and Natasha were supposed to have a lovely summer, sitting out in the garden on a blanket, but we haven't had one single day of doing that, and I DO feel cheated. Ah well, maybe next summer eh?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hello Sea, sorry to hear you are feeling down. It does sound as if your present school is not making good use of your talents, but I am sure you are doing valuable work teaching so you should feel proud of that.
Could you move to a new school? Or is there any way to persuade that silly head teacher to let you do more?
Hope you're feeling better now and are braced for the excitements of the christmas half term.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
I echo Seax, perhaps the head is unaware of your extra talents, so maybe you need to ask him for more variety?

Thanks everyone - The head is more than aware - that's what is sooo frustrating! Feeling a bit better about it all now - my lovely form group made me smile so that was nice.
Payday yesterday - yippee!OH bought me some clothes with his overtime money as well which was nice - our 4 yr wedding anniversary today (and one I NEVER thought we'd make earlier this year!).
Hope all are well- not done much MSE really - still getting Chrismas stuff in sales and only what I need! Also got the 2nd class stamps in for sending cards as usually I leave it so late that I have to send them first class - so a little bit of MSE thinking there!

Hi Sea, glad you are feeling a bit better, and it sounds like things are happier in the Sea household recently? Can't believe your headmaster knows you have so much more you could bring to the school but doesn't give you the chance. He doesn't sound like a very effective headmaster to me!
It had never occurred to me to post my Xmas cards early enough to use 2nd class.....lol......might have to try that this year!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
