Sea, don't feel desperate, there is bound to be a solution to this. Talk to a different solicitor perhaps. Also - why not go to mil and tell her? She should know, he's her son after all. He is behaving abominably, you don't have to keep it to yourself.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

OMG! I can't believe it - just worked out the finances and if I reduced the food etc bill to £200 (obviously would aim for less for just the 3 of us!) and taking into account everything, I could cover the outgoings with increased tax credits and my income and also manage at least £500 towards debt repayments, which would mean they would be unlikely to take me to court/bankrupt me etc. Wow. I'm sure there is something wrong....will have to get to the CAB or somewhere similar for further details about it all.
Thanks ISOM - have written it down and may well use it over the next few days - you are a star!

You go girl! Good for you - you can provide for your family AND protect them from the stress of an unpredictable and abusive father. Best of luck with it.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

How about giving CCCS a call tomorrow - I am sure they will have come across things like this before and may be able to help you out a bit? I agree though that the CAB should be on your list of places to go tomorrow, but things are looking a little less gloomy than they were earlier aren't they!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hiya Sea, I have no wise words of comfort for you I'm afraid, which is quite frankly appalling considering all the wonderful advice you have given me over the years (yes I can say years!, WOW). Big hugs to you and I hope however it works out that it works out to your major advantage and happiness. Happy New Year. GF xxxDebt Apr 06 Huge Debt Now Small in Comparison

Use it any time & I mean that! Am thinking of you after your last post & in view of recent outbursts hope you & the children are all ok. Sounds as if you would be better off without him TBH...living in fear is awful, esp as a child when you dont fully understand what is going on....keep postingNerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
