Hi all
Well eventful weekend!! Sophia had a lovely birthday as did I , thank you! I got my hair cut - a lot of it!- and so did the kids - we all look better for it. I went out with friends for my birthday, lovely, except OH managed to taint it by doing his usual ringing up and carrying on. He even rang my mum's house (I was still out - stayed at a friends) at 5.30am carrying on. I give up.
Got home today (meant to be back yesterday but I couldn't face it) and he was ok - but he was 'attacked' on the way home from the club he went to on sat night and has a black eye. I commented that he must have got a few punches back in as his hands are all mashed up, but no, that was from smashing in our bedroom door apparently. So that's another thing I have to buy then. I also needed to replace my present box - he stumbled and stood on the corner smashing it (one of those plastic storage crates) and my presents were scattered about (ruining some so I can't give them away now). It was apparently when he got up. i don't know what to do now. It's really embarrassing that he's done this again as I have tried to improve things but my friends and family dislike him anyway. Nothing seems to really change for long - he's still drinking every night and is still on the heavy duty painkillers. I think i've done just about everything I can and was thinking this is my year - I was 29 on the 29th so must be!
Had a babysitter for tonight but am not going out now - OH is and I don't care about so not going. Going to have an early night and some time to myself.
My mum made my birthday so wonderfulShe looked after the kids and let me have a little (ok, long!!!) sleep during the day yesterday after my rather long night out. Her bday present was the haircuts and a great book on depression which I look forward to reading. She also got me a great compost caddy for the side in the kitchen
She got Sophia a marvellous CD and tape player - Sophia adores it!
I'll be back soon with a better attitude I hope!! Ah well.

I have been reading your diaries over the past few days but as I was at work and I had to log off and then struggled to find them again. That was until this evening where I have moved only twice from my pc to make a cup of coffee.
I have to say that your diaries are very motivational, they are honest and truthful and I would say a great inspiration to anyone that is having financial difficulties/OH problems etc.
From reading your diaries your life is so very busy but you always find time to help someone else, or post a link to someone to help them. Even when you have felt depressed and especially after losing your baby. You have continued to support others. :A
I haven't read anyone else's diaries but I will be in the future. I work as a debt counsellor so use the site for the financial side of things, but people like you who take the time out to write these diaries will in turn help other people who maybe in dire circumstances. Not only for them but also the counsellors to understand the needs/concerns/worries that a person goes through whilst on a debt management plan.
I hope you have a truly fantastic 2008. Keep looking forward and your debt free date will be here sooner than you think. :T
Hugs
Thank you so much - this is a lovely message

Sea, you have put up with a heck of a lot from OH from what I recall. I am afraid I have no answers, but just want to remind you of your inner strength that you have shown on countless occasions. Big hugs to you and may 2008 be happy and healthy for you xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Oh Sea, what a miserable end to your birthday. I'm so sorry to hear your OH is still being a p*llock. He clearly has a bad drink problem, which must make him impossible to live with. You are clearly a saint for sticking with it, and creating such a happy secure family life for your children.
I know you thought of leaving him earlier this year, before you got pregnant and he improved his ways. Would you think of separating now? Would that give him the shock he needs to accept the gravity of his problem?
I know there are others better qualified to advise on this than me, but want to send you lots of love and support, and hope that whatever happens, 2008 is a better year for you.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Oh, Sea, it sounds as though you have an awful lot to put up with. Maybe you need that time to yourself tonight for some thinking time. You sound as if you are lucky to have a supportive Mum - is she far away?
I hope you can work out what is best for you to do; just remember that despite your ups and downs you are doing a fantastic job with your children and work and debt repayments and holding everything else together. Wish I was a bit closer to give you a real hug but you'll have to make do with the slightly pervy MSE version.:grouphug:0 -
aww sea really sorry to hear that...no answers as these things are very personal & decisions are yours alone. Whatever you decide we're here for you. Onwardss & upwards for you in 2008! Hope its a better year for you
Big squidgy hug - wish I was there to deliver it in person...

Thanks you lot
Well, am sat in tonight celebrating the new year with a ca of diet coke and feel very happy about! Going to be nice to be up early tomorrow with no hangover.
Not been doing my clicks etc over the holidays so must crack on with that. Also need to get an electric screwdriver in pink or other such girlie colour for m-i-l's bday. Am searching like mad but can't find any.
Not really got any New Years resolutions - I do want this year to be a good one of course (who doesn't lol!!) but I think that I'll just carry on with addressing the depression etc and also try to figure out what's happening between me and OH. He's made no reference to it all really and he went out at 7.30 - he only got back from work at 6.30. Hopefully we'll have a good talk tomorrow and maybe he can get that counselling sorted through his work again. Think it would be a good idea perhaps.
Got a mountain of thank you cards to write - but I don't mind doing them - just have to get Sophia in the right mood so she doesn't hate and dread it each year! Might do some of my own tonight.
Anyhoo will now go and have a nose around - will see if I can catch up all I've missed! Probably not
