Phil....you do NOT have to explain your every move to your parents. You're going out. FULL STOP. If you feel you must say where you are going then you are contacting someone about a job. That is not a lie. Your parents do NOT need to know your every move and you don't have to tell them.
Go to Uni if you feel you need to and use your phone there. Take all your stuff with you. (If you need an excuse (which you don't) you could be going to see a tutor). You do not need your parents' permission to make a phone call.
I find it difficult to believe that parents are this controlling.
I have a son only a few years older than you. I don't know where he goes or who he phones all the time (in fact we live in different countries). If your parents really ARE this controlling then this is wrong and you need to not let it happen.
Make those phone calls NOW.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

They just disapprove of me doing somethings so I just get used to not telling them stuff to save me getting that.:beer:0 -
I should push at going out more I know. I could say I am going to the country for a change or just to a country pub or somewhere and just try pushing the bounds.:beer:0

Well, tell them that you don't approve of their opinion of her!!
Have some balls, Phil. Move out.
God, no wonder my generation of females has such a problem finding a man to go out with when they're all so wet behind the ears.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -

You certainly don't act like a man! You can't leave the house without an excuse having to give an explanation of your every move, you can't apply for any job unless your parents approve and you can't have a girlfriend (unless on the sly) unless your parents approve! Stand up and be a man! You have to set out some rules of your own and if your parents answer back and say well if you are living under this roof you have to abide by our rules - move out!
What if you fell in love and wanted to get married and your parents did not approve of your prospective wife what would you do dump her???
If you applied for the DLA you should be getting you would have the help of getting your own place!0 -

Sadly yes, on the whole.
That said, I'm fairly opinionated myself, so it might be a while until I meet my match!Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0
