So, have you done anything about it? Or decided against it?
Also, where are these library jobs that require a PG degree?Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
Councils often take on librarians - and you can work your way up to Chief Librarian - Google up the job sites of any local councils..
Other than that, I really would apply for more then one type of job - you can always change jobs later if it doesn't suit you.
It's always easier to get a job when you already have a job, as experience is what many companies look for.
You may not ever get exactly what you want - but, at the end of the day a job that you enjoy with reasonable wages is the best most of us manage anyway.

Then you have to face up to your limitations and try to find something else that interests you. I know that at the moment I don't want to take my foundation degree any further because a) I'm lazy and b) I have a busy family and social life, so I DON'T LOOK FOR JOBS THAT REQUIRE A FULL DEGREE. I look around at what my qualifications and experience would allow me to do, while at the same time being something I would be interested in.
You cannot seriously tell me that there is no job in the world you wouldn't like to do that doesn't require years of high level study?
Have you looked in your local paper? Have you signed up with a temp agancy? Have you volunteered with charities? I guess not.
Phil, if you've struggles like you have doing your UG degree, why put yourself through years of torture doing any more? Accept that you're at your right level for now, and look for something commensurate with your qualification and experience. A job in a council library, WITHOUT a degree or even A levels, can earn up to £20 odd K and would be less stressful.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
Years ago I worked with a bunch of guys who amused themselves by writing fake problem letters to the Sun's agony aunt. They would disguise their writing or get other people to copy out the letters for them, then send them off. One day they reached their ultimate goal - every single letter on the page was one of their fakes.
With the advent of the internet, pillocks like these have been given infinite opportunities to spam the entire world with their pathetic antics. Why write out laborious letters when you can take turns posting as a fictitious individual?
Yes, I know everybody else has figured this out already but since I don't usually read posts in the Arms I have escaped his attentions until just recently!0 -

A library assistant's job would do for now and that surely has to be achieveable for now given my qualifications and experience. It might not be forever but it would get me some more vital experience to improve my career chances. I have done charity work before. There has not really been any good jobs in my local paper. I am looking at temping at the moment.
I can not afford to be stuck on 20k all my life as I won't be able to afford anything like a decent life. Whilst I might be upto a Masters just right now I need a break from studying.:beer:0 -
Right, I have made my mind up, I am going to ring up today and ask if I have got it.:beer:0

I am not wasting your time, but surely it is killing me this waiting to know.
I know I should wait a bit longer as you say but I am just getting really worried and upset now that the outcome is bad.:beer:0 -

So you'll potentially make it worse by nagging them. Way to go.
