Well, if you were that fantastic it shouldn't be hard to persuade your previous employers to take you back when they have a vacancy. 1 working at a library
2 working at a university.
Both need PG quals to get anywhere.

I was about to say: why do you need a degree to work at a library (even a uni library?)
I googled "jobs + library", and there are plenty of decent ones (ie 25+ plus) here which don't require a degree.
