No Devon, not everyone else. Don't include me in your nasty gang.

But you are close. Certainly a large proportion of the population jumps onto the 'blame the immigrant' bandwagon, you included. It's always been like this through history. Whenever the economy is stuttering there's always has been a kneejerk reaction to blame the immigrant.

Kudos to Hamish for continuing to bring an alternative view.

Cue the Hamish reciprocal thank you, yet to be received at10:18.

One might think you were related.

Why is it that I never heard this 'mass immigration is vital' stance throughout the 80s and 90s?

I don't remember people predicting economic armageddon then.

In fact, at Uni back then we were taught that technology, automation, innovation, IT ... these were all the key drivers to a successful economy.

The technology argument made sense to me then, and it still makes sense now. Becoming more productive means realising greater profits and more efficient use of resources.

Why do we need these additional millions when you can do more with less in the future?

Y'up, the Aussie system has caused the nation no end of detriment.......

I deal with lots of immigrant restaurant / takeaway owners. I've yet to meet one that pays anything like meaningful tax. Plus they almost always employ 'thier own'. You can see this right accross the London takeaway / ethinic restaurant scene.

How ever did we manage to become Great Britain without masses of immigrants arriving each week? However did we function?

Lets get the long term unemployed off thier butts and into work !!!!!!, you know in that magical manner new immigrants manage with ease the last 15 years.

The benefits of technology, automation have not "trickled down" to the masses unless indirectly the benefit system is providing this to some degree.

Having drained the west the big corporates are now off to the developing world to do the same all over again.

Back to the racist card - yet again. So anyone who has a view on open border immigration is part of a "nasty gang" now? That is truly ridiculous.
But you are close. Certainly a large proportion of the population jumps onto the 'blame the immigrant' bandwagon, you included.

I would like to see you point out a specific post where someone specifically "blames the immigrant" - all I have seen is stating facts and questioning the actions of the establishment.
It's always been like this through history.

I am afraid you are wrong. Immigration on the scale we are currently experiencing due to open borders is unprecedented. There has never been anything like it in history. Not even close.

Prickle is just back to the "I have nothing of substance to say, therefore, I will simply construct a slur on your personality and then attack you based on that" level of discussion.

You're not fooling me, pretending you want to discuss open borders policy nor with your fake indignation about the 'racist card'.
I've seen many posts from you, with the vilest ones stating immigrants urinate in the streets, defecate in ponds and eat our swans. I could look it up, but don't feel like trawling through endless posts of your xenophobic claptrap.
You sure are a nasty piece of work.

Didn't need to construct anything. Sampong's posts speak volumes. Not surprised to see you hanging your cart on the bandwagon either.

PS: It's not the immigrants' fault you're stuck with half a house.;)

As I say...nothing to do with the discussion.

So bitter are you, you just need to attack constantly and you'll make something up to do so.
