Whatever activity you enjoy is good! :) Mum loves walking too, so I often join her. So does the OH. It was a bit windy and bracing this winter though! lol

I used to be awful with my eating. Would eat burgers, but not beef etc. Now I like beef, but am quite particular about how it is cooked lol Fish is a work in progress still. I eat cod, Pollock and haddock now, but still working on the others. We grow our own veggies here too. Was just checking on the seedlings actually. We lost a few in the cold snap, so had to start the cucumbers and peppers again, but the strawberries, radishes, lettuce, salad leaves, spring onions and beetroot are going great guns :)

I am addicted to crisps. I keep trying to get rid of the habit, but it's pretty difficult. I finally managed to quit the fizzy drinks last year though. That was a difficult one too.

Sounds lovely :) xxxx I'm not keen on fizzy drinks but do like freshly squeezed lemon in tepid (previously boiled) water every morning. Like some crisps but prefer to have them with salad dips. I try to grow as much as I can re veggies and fruit - they taste so lovely and no pesticides etc involved!

Fish is a joy, so many recipes to do with them. I am also keen on salmon, tuna, love kippers, mackerel, sardines - anything really. Good for the soul (or should I say sole :D) and very good for the health. Again, I am very careful where/how I buy, where it has been fished from, re dwindling nos etc and how fresh. We have a lovely fish mongers near - very trustworthy so I tend to stick mainly with them if I can. xxxxx

I was addicted to them. Particularly diet coke. Giving that up was harder than quitting smoking! Still, I did win festival tickets from them once, so something good came from my addiction at one point! lol

Oh yeah, the less pesticides the better. And you can make sure the soil hasn't been 'overfarmed' in your back garden. They believe that is the cause between the drop in the nutrition level of fruit and veg today, compared to 50/60 years ago. Plus, strawberries always taste much, much better from the garden :D

I've never been keen on fish, so had to work hard at it introducing it to my diet. I don't like fishy fish, if that makes sense? Tried salmon repeatedly and really don't like the stuff. I'm told I'll probably like swordfish, but I haven't worked up the courage to try it yet.

We try to eat organic, free range meats when we can (it's pricey though), and we have now found a lovely farmshop near us that has a fab butchers! They do some lovely, high meat content, sausages too! :D I did try a venison sausage recently though and didn't like it! Oh well, must keep trying xxxx

Glad you like the picture Tulip! :)

Just back from a 1.5 hour, 4 mile, walk in the sun with the folks. Bit windy, and therefore nippy, but lovely and sunny. We were even treated to an impromptu flying display too:

    Debt-free and Proud!
    How lovely euro.

Nice to read about what you've all been up to. My day has been very leisurely. Had a lovely long lie in. I'm now watching a bit more extreme couponing and am planning to try and bag some bargains myself this week. Getting some inspiration from the grabbit board :)
    Debt free 6th December 2014 :)

Lovely pic!! :) Have you tried grouper or catfish? Wonderful fish, I was introduced to these in the states, we as a family spent many years in america and the restaurants cooked the fish beautifully. Used to have them with rice on the side and a sauce. Absolutely scrumptious.

Talking about food tasting better, I agree, and pulling up newly grown carrots and the sweetness of the taste - it can't be beaten, peas, beans and so the list goes on! Happy days and you can't beat home grown. xxxx

And for anyone who doesn't have much of a garden ...... use tubs etc on patios, balconies, grow herbs on window sills - there is always a way - grow your favourite veg and enjoy :) xxxxxx

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around today but the family came and its always hectic, they haven't long gone. Was going to put some stuff on ebay but thats gone out of the window now this week.

iluvcats - naughty !!!!!cat - were you trying to tempt me with that fudge last night lol.

Karie - I hope you have a lovely time at Karioki if you decide to go.

euro - thanks for the tips. Generally eat a healthy diet. Plenty of fish, chicken, wholewheat pasta, wholemeal bread and lots of fruit. Don't have fizzy drinks/crisps/sweets/choc bars. Maybe the odd biscuit once in a while. Not able to have fresh tomato/peppers/onions and nothing citrous as they make me poorly. Also have under active thyroid which doesn't help matters either. If I wander off the right path I can put on 2lb a week not trouble. Anyway onward and upwards (oh sorry that should be downwards). Regarding exercise, like Alfie roller blades are out at my age but we love the wii fit + as its fun to do so must press on with that.

    Rant over.

Firefly - we have had rain on and off but have managed to dry a line of washing and plant bulbs with the GS so that was good.

Sheils - good luck to your DD and hope she does well.

Must try and do some comps done now.

    SYL
BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS
