We've had a toy sort! We have a box of baby things for nursery, and they've played with stacking cups etc for old times sake. DD is currently threading cotton reels onto laces :D

Conservatory is tidy, and even warm after the sunshine its had, playroom is all neat and I've even tidied the craft drawers. Bins are out, loo roll inners bagged up ready for when we do our seedlings (soon I hope!). We are all fed and DR s&s and floor swept. DW wants emptying, but I've done a second wm and they are on airers.

I've even had a sort in bathrooms, put my new soap dispenser in and moved old one into main bathroom, and decluttered along the way so window ledges are much clearer.
We seem in surprisingly good shape, and its the wind down hour now for he littlies, so I'm having a cuppa.

I think I'm decided on my hallway, and I've seen an enormous mirror today that would go fab, and help to reflect more light around. Anyone painted stripes on their walls? Any tips for getting opposite walls level?

Back at work, just for two days this week, but likely to be busy as its after a double bank hol and run up to tax year end too. MIL collecting littlies tomorrow as she wants to take them swimming, and staying over so I can have an early start...

Yesterday, I saw my great grandfather's medals for the first time as well as my grandfather's diary from 1920 when he was in the Merchant Navy, and several other documents.

Any idea who he was with in the MN? I have lots of connections over about 150yrs.

Bonnie - my family tree on ancestry is getting unmanageable. I have all sides together. Is there a way to split this - is it worth doing?

ETA just found my Mum's Mum on the 1911 census, appears she had an older sibling who had died before she was born. Always sad to find out such things. I can see an entire afternoon disappearing.

Aww. It can be heartbreaking. In the last couple of weeks I've found a cousin of my father's that no-one in his family knew existed; it appears she lived a few streets away from them in South London for decades! She moved to the country and took her own life aged 51 :( By this time my Dad was regularly driving through her village on business. So near and yet so far :(

I'll have a think about the tree-splitting and pm you.
Ah, you may regret posting this...
