Year 6 is age 11. Last time I checked my own children were living below the poverty line. They've never been in a limo. Poor sausages :(

They'll be scarred for life, you know that don't you? :D:D

6 or 11, does it make it right? Not really

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
My female friends had told me that giving birth was like !!!!!!!! a water melon. They lied. It's like excreting a block of flats - complete with patios, awnings, clothes-lines, television aerials, satellite dishes, back-yard barbecues, kidney-shaped swimming pools, gazebos and double-garage extensions with the cars parked outside.

Are we not just sharing pointless quotes?

Frankly the whole of this 'prom' end of term limo etc is americanised bullsh&t.
It's like all that's worst out of 'trailer park' and the Irish Traveler community.
Don't call them Gypsies !!!!!!: Gypsy = Romany in my book and that means those who don't claim benefits & are from Roma stock, nothing else.

If the yanks want to make it a tradition in their 200 year old country then fair enough.
We don't have to accept it in the UK anymore than we accept poor (sic) spelling.

If the schools decide they cannot deal with it, then I think it's fair enough to accept that parents may well remove their children before the end of term/prom for their own 'traditional' (i.e. clear off abroad) celebrations if that means taking them on holiday within the schools normal term time then sobeit.

The schools/local authorities don't have any right to complain if they allow non UK traditions or new fashions to rule the manner in which the last days of term are governed IMHO.
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.

My guess/understanding of the situation is that the parents have booked 3 x 10 seater limos -possibly because that was all there was left to hire, if they are in an area where doing this is the norm for the last day of Primary school so there was always going to be 2 not included from a class of 32. How they decided which 2 were going to be left out I don't know. I think an early post said the other child not invited is the class bully. The ops son also being missed out might be an unfortunate oversight or deliberate for whatever reason and OP is only likely to find out why it's happened by asking the parents concerned.

My lovely Nanna used to play bingo with her friend. Not Gala bingo, just a little game in a church hall for charity, where the prizes were tins of peaches and jars of coffee.

Every time she said 'two fat ladies, me and *friend's name*' her friend looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp :rotfl:
