Next month that will be an extra £450 that can go to overpay - I will be aiming for £1,900 in total - I really want to get under £40.000
You can do it

Dyed my hair last night for the first time ever. I don't look too freaky so won't have to go to emergency hairdresser. Is a bit darker than I thought but it should fade. My roots were getting very obvious so it had to be done.
Bought lots of potted herb last night:
2 x mint
2 x oregano
2 x thyme
2 x rosemary
chilli plant
All for €16. I know it sound a lot - but I usually buy fresh herbs in the supermarket in little packets and here those packets cost about €2.50 each. Chillis cost even more. So I have "calculated" that in about three weeks I will be break even - if I can keep them alive.
Tonight I want to plant them - which means I am going to try and build a herb garden just outside my kitchen window. This could prove interesting.Mortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

Overpay aim 2014: £3,800/£12,000
Kitchen and curtain fund: €1,000 / €4,000

IMO that's very MSE!
Mint, Rosemary and Thyme are quite hardy in my experience. Mint will take over tho if you let it (its lush for fresh mint tea tho!)Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k

Thanks for the heads up about the mint LauraJo - I have given them their own pot so they do not interfere with the others!
I am going to have an expensive week! Just had to get four new tires yesterday for my car. Had no tread left on the old ones! But I paid for it with this months money so will be left with more money next month to overpay.
Am heading for an NSD today though - I don't get many of those

Fresh herbs are beautiful, to eat, smell and look at. Well worth the pennies

I have whatever the opposite of a green thumb is, my mint plant got down to death's door and now it's HUGE, so you should be okay by my reckoning

Calfuray - I like to think I have a brown thumb. I plant it, it's green - I look after it for a while and it turns brown. The only survivor so far is Lavender. I planted them when the were really small and now thet are practically bushes - am very proud.Mortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)
