Hi Penny P
Thanks for popping by and my lips are sealed - nobody ever comes on here (sick of my babbling on about books no doubt) so your secret hairdresser rendez-vous will remain a secret
Indeed I cannot believe only one Roald Dahl is on there
I just got out some cookbooks (I have loads and I never cook
) and will be writing a shopping list now.
Penny P - you have a job and a family to look after and you cook your own meals - surely I must be able to manage at least a few a week?
I have heard that if both parties agree to the terms of the divorce and there are no difficult assets to split up then an online divorce normally does the trick. But you should get some better advice on one of the other boards - is there a husbandfreewannabe board on here somewhere?

Am going for an NSD today so I can make it 2 so far this month. Yesterday I also had an alcohol free day.
My boss has an old dusty treadmill he says I can use - so I will be giving it a clean and an oiling tonight and see if it still works as it is still sooooooo cold here.Mortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

Hi if at first!
You sound quite similar to me when I started...always spending a little bit here and there, not really knowing that I owed and never cooking!! (still dont cook but get OH to!!)
I have managed to get my MF date to next year with a bit of sacrifice - feel free to have a browse at my diary and see if you can pick up more tips! Biggest thing though is just being aware of everything!!Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k
Savings: £3k
Aim: 100k by Dec 20210 -
Not that much to report. Have managed to overpay another £600 today bringing my total to £1.100 out of the £5.000 aim for 2013.
Also I have read 27 out of the 50 books but I have most of the long ones still to do. If anyone is interested "A Town Like Alice" is a great book. I had never heard of it but I loved it.
We have also been decluttering and have thrown away and given away a lot of old junk. Less stuff to move later!
I have started to try the 'if I don't have it I can't spend it" method
It is quite tough but I pay all my bills and then leave a small amout to live on and all the rest gets sent to the mortgage. I now have another €75 to live on untill pay day (5/06/2013). It will be quite tight but I have some food reserves so I don't think I will starve.Mortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

Mortgage payment went off and I am now at £53,805.58 with a pay off date of march 2029 so I have already taken about three years off the total - just another nine to go

I have not yet received my wages but all my bills for June have been paid - I will therefore be sending most of my pay packet over to the mortgage and will be going for a bare minimum month
Bit worried about this but it will be an intersting experiment to live on €200
For the rest I have been very very lazy. Done no exercise and have been terrible at cooking and eating healthy. I will also probably be moving this month or at the latest next and I will be needing a washing machine.
Next month will not be good for my overpay. On the plus side in Belgium we get double wages in July - they tax you higher but it will mean about an extra €900 which will more than cover my mid-year expenses in my UK flat.
Will update again when I have done my June overpayMortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

Hi there if at first
I regularly have to transfer euros to the UK and use an online currency broker- might be worth checking out as their rates are usually better than a direct bank transfer
Also read 100 years of solitude next- it's crazy, mad and great :-)0 -
Thanks Resilie, will check currency broker out and I'll make a start on 100 years of solitude this weekend. :TMortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

Rant allert :mad::mad::mad::mad:
I had some cash to put in the bank (money was owed to me) €550. Wanted to put it on my account and cashere says to me we have a machine for cash deposits you need to use that. Next thing I know machine swallows my cash and there is an error message. Bank manager says to me no probs luv - the guys come to empty the machine on friday :eek::eek::eek: they will notice the difference and it will then get put on your account. This has ruined my day as I was going to use this money for bills and trasfer my whole wage to the UK. He says I should have my money by next week tuesday. I am fuming and made a massive scene in the bank. Ended up phoning the main office and they will send someone round tommorrow to sort the machine but I will still have to wait till friday for the money to be on my account. I haaaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttttttttte banks. If I ran off with their money for a few days there would be hell to pay.
Anyway I have decided to risk it and I just sent €1450 over to my UK account and got a property managment fee bill for £615 which I will pay right away and the rest will go on the mortgage (I am hoping for £500). I am cold stone broke now though till that money shows up on my account.
Did I mention that I haaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttteeeeeeee banks?Mortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

Ooh that sucks. So I guess that not only do you not have the cash credited to your account but that other people can't deposit cash either until it's sorted?0

So the Lion the witch and the Wardrobe is done (laughed till I cried at the part with Mr Tumnus and: Spare Oom in War Drobe". Wanted to read all the chronicles but with the other 49 books will not have time this year. Am now going for A Christmas Carol over the weekend (another short one I know) - but Anna Karenina keeps giving me the eye so she may be next.
Have checked and I have about 30 of the 50 books so I have a lot to be getting on with till I have to find a source for the other 20
When the BBC Big Read was originally running my reading group at the time made a mad decision to read the top 100 - luckily I'd already read a fair few so could do quicker reread!! I got loads of them in charity shops, particularly useful for ones I knew I wouldn't want to keep! Have you started Anna?
I'd never read any Tolstoy but Anna Karenina is one of my favourites at the end :TLooking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier
