  • Great news!!! Someone bought all my old furniture - everything in one go! Paid straight away with a cheque :D

Have topped up my emergency saving to my goals of €1,000 and the rest is going to the mortgage. Looks like I will be able to get to £45,000 by 31 December. :j:j:j

Am very excited. Now I can start saving for curtains as right now I have to be very careful not to give my neighbours a nasty shock when I get out the bath! Tried hanging some old pieces of fabric but my cats keep pulling them down. I have a theory that they are not fond of the neighbours and are plotting to give them a heart attack.

  • Have had a very heavy month in terms of bills but paid it all without going into my emergengy savings. There will only be a small overpay and my mortgage now stands at £45,350 so with one month to go I should make my goals of £45,000 by the 1/01/2014 :j

Have started reading more again, just finished birdsong and I will try and get through Captain Corelli's Mandolin this week leaving another 9 books to get through in 7 weeks :o

Really angry at myself that I had such a bad August and September!

Just wanted to do a quick summary of my MSE achievements this year:

I OPed £9,974 on my mortgage and my goal was to OP £5,000 - so very very pleased with myself :T:T:T:T:T:T
I read all 50 books on my list :T:T:T:T:T:T

Apart from that all my goals have been a bit of a flop. I will be posting my 2014 goals later and hopefully I will be better next year. :o

  • Hi well done you on the HUGE overpayment ;), i have loved reading your diary. There are lots of things that you are not going to to next year>

Nuts and seed are good as a snack, although not as interesting as chocolate:). If you can last 30 days without junk you won't crave it as much, so good luck and fill your handbag with things you can eat or drink so you don't buy rubbish.

Being nosey are you going to loan books from the library instead ? I would hate to think that you are not reading.

Thanks for the tip - will keep my bag stocked with healthy treats.
