Hard to believe.
A firm like TCB?
No, I am just not a self-entitled bureaucrat and choose to see these sites as the Brucey bonuses they are.
Cashback just a 'Brucey bonus'?
Again, TCB love members like you and that's what they'd like all members to believe. But, you are indeed self-entitled to that opinion, albeit it could be costly. Good luck collecting your 'bonuses'.
To prove a point that TCB don't fully advise.
@ TCB Matt - please state all available options right here on this forum that members can pursue when they have had or are having issues with financial product purchases.
All means all and not just some.
(or are there really no options once TCB have told you so?)
Saves waiting until March 1st when I'll be asking and posting here the TCB reply.
Please state the facts, or have the decency to resign. No payments from financial products from cash back sites? Put in a complaint direct and if they don't resolve your issue, head straight to the financial ombudsman - it costs the company £550 in referral fees, win or lose.0 -
Lol.
Lots going on here. Just catching up.
First of all, take very little notice of what Matt (TCB) posts on here. Maybe his hands are tied and he's limited, or just plain useless.
Cashback not guaranteed?
I completely agree with B-M and have said on previous occasions on this thread that Matt`s only reason to come on here is to pay lip service and try to blame evryone except TCB.
It`s the complex networks, it`s the retailers, it`s the members, etc.
B-M is absolutely right when you keep hitting against a brickwall, use your legal rights.
There is no way TCB would allow a case to go to Northampton because that would set a precedent and open the flood gates to other non payment of cashback claims.
If they don`t want to make it crystal clear that cashback is not guaranteed they should face the backlash.0 -
How do you know?
Maybe it needs testing.
The advert goes on about getting cashback but nowhere in the ad or the small wording at the bottom of the screen does itsay "cashback is not guaranteed".
You should ask yourself why are TCB not making it crystal clear about the fact either on their home page or their link at the top of the home page "About cashback".
They have a link "about cashback" but no mention of it not being guaranteed.
So they are not telling you the full facts of "about cashback".
If you don't believe me, contact Clearcast. As the governing body for advertising on TV they will have cleared the ad for broadcast. They might even be able to help you in your quest to have TCB comply with your wishes if you believe TCB are being dishonest.
At the risk of repeating myself, read the t&cs on the retailer pages for 'full facts'.0 -

And yet you still criticise them. Interesting.0 -

Thank you, I can safely say I am highly satisfied with my TCB membership to date. But I will be sure to let you know as soon as I find anything untoward.0 -

Here are TCB t&c, where exactly does it say cashback is not guaranteed.
Which paragraph, which line?

At the risk of repeating myself, contact the regulatory bodies for the 'full facts'. Ask them if a promoted cashback offer should only be considered as a 'Brucey bonus'?
There are real facts and there are facts that are there for those that believe in Santa Claus. What TCB put out, or avoid putting out is just the TCB way and has been for years and that's despite promoting both a 'fair play policy' and 'mission statement'.

When a company portrays 'media hype' like that, but doesn't utilise those policies, it tells you pretty much all you need to know.
TCB would like to think they can invent their own laws, but they can't.

Matt, don`t come on here later today and say:
"There’s lots of points to cover and I think one post that addresses everyone will help" (it won`t)
What will help will be one straight answer why the fact that cashback is not guaranteed is not made obvious on TCB website and also the tv ad.0 -

Again...
Using the Argos example you used in a previous post:
https://www.topcashback.co.uk/argos/
Click on the tab "What to do when" under "Terms & Conditions and other useful information" and (I quote): "Some merchants may not be forthcoming with untracked cashback. We endeavour to chase untracked cashback but reserve the right to halt enquiries at any time. Please do not make purchase decisions based upon expected cashback as it is not guaranteed."
If you still believe TCB should amend their site to comply with your wishes, report them to The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and/or Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP).0 -

Again I assumed common sense that I was putting the term 'full facts' in inverted commas to show I was not using it as a literal term, rather I was using it in the manner of the poster I was replying to.
And far from their own laws, TCB are bound to abide by ASA and CAP laws in the UK at least. If you believe otherwise, report them.
I for one believe they are following the rules of promotional advertising and am a happy customer. For someone that has amassed +£3k worth of Brucey bonuses I fail to see why you would attack the hand that feeds you in such a way. I do know from experience that far from being crusaders for the good and righteous, users that continually berate and throw tantrums, are usually the ones that get these promotions shut down and ruin it for the rest of us happy, satisfied members.
And thank you for ruining Christmas.
