i agree with all the above, but when a baby moves inside you how could you not feel that? i'm 23 wks pregnant and am been kicked to death as I type

My youngest hardly moved. I was having to go to the hospital on a regular basis to have his heart monitored to check he was ok.

Saying that, he dont move much now. :D

I've never had any nausea or morning sickness while pregnant, and on my current pill I don't have periods, so if I got pregnant I think it would be many months before I realised. I expect I would think something was up when I started to get big and the baby started kicking.

it is suggested that the majority of women who said they didnt know were in denial and just ignored all the symptoms

I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant with my third, and all three have been completely different - and with the first, I didn't know until 27 weeks. I had done pregnancy tests and all were negative until that point (which has been the same with the other two, I have low HCG levels that don't show up on tests until around 6 months generally).

I had no bump until about 36 weeks with number 1 - I was a very fit size 10, and he was born 9lb4oz, and didn't feel him move until about 30 weeks, because of the anterior placenta.

My second battered me to death from 13 weeks, and I absolutely ballooned in every direction.

This third, I didn't feel move until past the 20 week scan (anterior placenta again), and I have a neat, but not tiny bump, but don't look pregnant at all from behind.

My Mum never made it out of her size 8 jeans with me.

she said that until the last month no one had any idea she was pregnant.

Kicking wise she thought it was really bad gas or cramps (she does have harsh digestive issues)
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...

There will be the odd woman who genuinely doesn't realise. The rest will be in denial. 'Didn't know I was pregnant' is far more common in younger girls, i.e. teenagers. Partly they might not be as body-aware as an older woman but mainly they're simply too frightened to face up to the truth.

I know someone who swears she never felt her baby kick at all, other than once in labour.

I love watching that programme on tv (I love watching trash when in on my tod). I don't know anyone who has not known that they were pregnant but I do know that I would feel cheated if it happened to me.

my friends mom didnt know she was pregnant until she was in labour! her boyfriend took her to hospital with what they thought was appendicitus - after an examination, the doctor came out to her boyfriend and said 'the good news is its not appendicitus... however, you are about to become a father so if you would like to follow me!'

she was still getting into her size 10 jeans and getting regular periods!!

I'm size 8 and didn't know, normal periods, no symptoms, no feeling of kicking. Confirmed at 34 weeks because of an emergency scan for a bloated tummy. My daughter had spina bifida and there was excess amniotic fluid around her. The excess fluid is common when babies have SB and together with her inability to move her legs meant I really didn't know. I had her at 39 weeks but unfortunately she only lived a few days because she had other more serious problems.
