I sat next to a man for 11 hours on a flight from Beijing to London who had the worst flatulence I have ever encountered.

He blew off constantly and it smelt like old cabbage and sulphur and literally made my eyes water.

I have never been so glad to get off an aeroplane.
    Sorry. I thought no-one noticed.

If air-freight is used then charges are based on a combination of weight and volume.

It makes sense for buff people (like you and me) to be charged according to volume rather than weight. We could strip down to our budgie smugglers and hop in a tank of water at the departure gate and charged accordingly. Not only do we get to show off our chiseled physiques but we could also crack a few jokes about stewardesses measuring our 'displacement'.

Fatties are just too damn buoyant so they'd have to use the scales of shame.

Unless you are a shareholder I don't get the mindset of wanting people to pay more fee's to the airlines. Prime example you have a cash cow like check in luggage where US airlines alone have collected $1.7 billion for check in luggage in the first half of 2012. Not too long ago check in bags were free.
