My problem in the past has been that I have this ridiculous attitude in that if I cant blitz the whole house in one go and have the whole place gleaming and smelling lovely , theres no point starting, which of course is not a good plan - my house is testament to that......... :o
Dollydog that's exactly how I used to be. I'd try and do the entire bungalow in a day, fail, then start again the next day in exactly the same place as before so the lounge was always sparkling, but the rest of the place was a tip. I do one room per day, these days.

That said, while I have [STRIKE]Leaky[/STRIKE] Mary Dog staying, I'm just doing enough to keep it hygienic, because she's extremely hard work, bless her; and because of her age-related "problems" I have a carpet of newspaper throughout the bungalow. She actually managed to poo in the back garden this morning, rather than on the kitchen floor.:T:T:T

She's due to go and stay with the dog-sitting franchisee for a few days a) to give me a break, and b) because we're attending the opera on Saturday evening, and Mary can't be left for that length of time; so she should be picked up at 13:00 today, and brought back on Sunday morning.:o I shall be taking advantage of the opportunity to give the place as good a blitz as I can manage.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Morning all

Laundry and tidying so far this morning plus an hour long phone convo with my mother.

DS1 and I are just having cheese paninis then heading into town to get DS2 a birthday cake, hopefully collect more free eggs and finish the food shopping.

Plan for when I get back is more sorting and paperwork in the dining room, I'm starting to see a real difference and as we want to blitz DHs office tomorrow I want to make more progress today.

Also need to be on standby to collect DS2 from school later with the desk he has been making for DS3's new bedroom as his AS Design project.

When Dot goes down for a nap we are cracking on with the patterned paper... it is mainly full straight lengths so should go up fairly quickly.

  • Hi there. Back again after a few days in Somerset visiting friends and family and it was SO cold! We deferred our journey by a day, due to bad weather and traffic hold-ups on the M6, but managed to see everybody and had a lovely time.

Got back yesterday and got the cats home at teatime and they were so pleased to be back! But - the new one was yowling to come in the bedroom at 5am and I ended up with both in, and on and off my chest for two hours - and they are both heavy!! Managed to sleep from 7 - 9 then got a shower, thankfully we left the place really clean and I'm not in work until 1pm, so have only had bits of flying to do today. Have already got 2 x WM done and S & S of bathroom and kitchen.

Have had a quick read back and how busy have people been! New jobs, babies, new flyladies and lots of flying! Good vibes all round and good health wishes to all, off to work now! R x

Kids have been faffing over lunch, so I said not a word and removed their plates in silence. No protests as yet, they are being cats. If they tell me they are hungry this afternoon I'll just bring the plates back out again

DD is stroppy today, and has been sent upstairs twice. She has said she is tired, so this afternoons plan is a quick walk to the postbox then a DVD in mums bed with a snuggle and hopefully she'll nod a little.

DS wants to play boxing all the time and his score keeps going up and up :D it's really funny to watch. He likes the golf too.

We've decorated some paper bags for Easter:

Great work Master & Miss Bossy x

I was given time slot of 10-1pm for the TD delivery so popped out with DS2 early. Came back 9.50am to find delivery driver & new TD in my back garden. At least I didn't to wait in all day.

Have changed master bed and have tried out new TD. It sounds like a jumbo jet but is quicker than old one.

Have had to mop the conservatory again due to muddy prints. I seem to be doing a years worth of mopping this week.

Sorted food cupboard and wondering how out of date I can get away with for tinned chopped tomatoes.

Dusted couple of shelves in kids' room. I have plans for a blitz in there later in the holiday.

Just going to have a cuppa whilst DS2 is occupied.
