    Afternoon all.

Hope everyone is ok, well last night without the boys was great but i fell to sleep in middle of film we watched so still ended up in bed by 10pm!! LOL.
Boys are back from mums now and they have had a great time.

So far today i have made rice pudding that is in slow cooker for after tea, bread in BM for pack ups tommorow, and me and kids have just made baked jam doughnuts, it is a weight watcher recipe i have from ages ago only 2.5 points per doughnut, the kids love making them as it is quite messy lol, they are just raising at the minute, then will bake them then jam and sugar them YUMMY Guess what im having for supper tonight!!!

We are having a `cheap` roast for tea, which is bangers with all the roast trimmings lol, then a night in front of CSI planned, then off to bed earlier as ds1 SATS start tommorow, he has science first then maths on tuesday.

Right off to watch the footy for five.

    Afternoon all,

Weather miserable here to-day, cold and windy and looks like we will have rain later.

My Australians are packing at the moment, they go to Scotland to-morrow to catch up with some friends, back to Ireland on 28th for about 2 weeks, I will be away so would have missed them if they had not come for these few days.
They are doing some travelling in UK and then to America and Canada and home to OZ on 8th August...three whole months vacation, nice.

Nothing much done to-day, wash on and have been to church, we are all going out to eat around 4, was to have been bbq if weather fine, but I think that the bbq will be indoors as things stand!

Lovely meal out last night, no idea how expensive as Aussie pulled a fast one and paid before either brother or I suspected him...we had meant to treat them. DGS2 was awake when we came home but in bed and we sat and had a nightcap...next thing he arrived downstairs to say that we were being too noisy and that we should go to bed as he couldn't get back to sleep! He was very polite about it all, but at four and a half seems to feel that he has the last word on everything.

Hugs to all in need, hope that your day is pleasant and all your news good.

    Marie.

    Hi everyone

I'm having an exceptionally lazy day today, though really get my bum in gear and do something. The kitchen is fairly clean and tidy, but the floor needs a wash, my little office is in utter chaos and a good sort out is long overdue. Actually all my floors need a good scrubbing, that should use up a fair few hours.

Just in case it escaped your notice, the forums will be down tonight from 10.00 o'clock for four hours for maintenance...eek!! What are we going to do?? I hope it's up and running again in time for the start of tomorrow's daily. See here for the evidence from the man himself:

Pen.Pincher, sorry you've been having a series of bad days, you poor thing. Hope you get a long series of very very good days soon.

Has anybody been in touch with AussieLass? I haven't been reading every day, so perhaps I've missed her posts, but it does seem to have been a very long time since she said hello.

    Bye for now.

    Hello from me! :hello:

Ohh I went to Morrisons for some basic stuff and got caught in a thunderstorm - it's a short walk but I managed to get well soaked. Still, we need the rain.

I wasted quite a bit of electricity overnight! Last night I made myself a cuppa at about 10pm. This morning I had a lie in and got up at 10am. Went to boil the kettle and found it warm and light. Opened it: dry as anything, smelling a bit of burnt metal - you know the smell I mean. So I realised it had been on ALL NIGHT!!!!! I thought I had blown it but after a few minutes it worked again. I don't know how much energy an electric kettle uses up, but I'm not very pleased with myself.

Anyway, if that were the worst of trouble ever to befall me, I'd be a happy sod indeed.

Meanwhile I bought two extra microfibre cloths because this week I want to clean my massive windows, inside and out, and I find that a good wipe with microfibre does a wonderful job, without any fancy sprays or even vinegar, just a tad of water.

Have a good day everyone :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Hi Y'all, dark, cold and wet here in the emids. I've cracked and put the heating on:eek: We deffo need the rain tho, my garden is like concrete, it could rain for a month and it still wouldn't be enough. LOL

Had a manic day yesterday 'catching up' and getting the place sorted. I've planned in a slobby afternoon today!

It feels a bit 'down' around here at the mo and it's not just the weather. We live very close to the village Rothley, most of the local churches have had special services and we again said prayers for Madeleine and her family this morning at Intercessions. Lots of yellow ribbons visible as you drive around the area. I hope some good news arrives soon!

We have a special Commissioning service tonight for all the Christian Aid volunteers, involving all the churches/denominations in the village, hence a working party at church yesterday giving the place a good OS spring clean.

PLUG ALERT: IF you get a Christian Aid envelope through you door during the next week please...please spare some small change. It really does help the poor and needy the world over and the volunteers who collect the envelopes suffer increasing levels of abuse and ridicule as the do it. Sermon over;)

    Lunch
    Poached salmon with holandaise sauce
Steamed potatoes, baby sweetcorn and carrots
    Lemon cheesecake.

PP Sorry to hear you are feeling grot (hugs)

Moggins How exciting having a new name. Maybe I could adopt a new one too MATH the revenge or MATH the final chapter or MATH reduced fat Yeh like that's ever gonna happen) LOL

Catowen Hope you start to feel better soon

    Hugs to all

Afternoon gang, hope everyone is well and happy today. This computer is being strange so will get straight to replies. Catowen look after yourself hun. VickyA I listened to the match and got really excited when your boys scored. Was really pleased for you.anniebooklover No never Manchester! When you become an examminer you have to provide the board with a list of schools that you have a connection with in any capacity parent, teacher governor etc. DH has his list as he is KS3 I will get my list KS2 this week. They do this to ensure that it is a fair process. DH is also a GCSE examminer and the same applies. meanmarie hope you have a lovely day. Thank you for the advice. . dannahaz Washburn is a FANTASTIC name.Hugs to both your kitties.(and you of course:rotfl: )PEN-PIN!! HUGS nice to hear from you. You take care hun.moggins nice to hear from you. You have been missed. HUGS to everyone that would like one. dlb will PM you! HUGS to twink & Kyle. The good thing(if that is the correct word to use in the circumstance) is that there is a 24 hour vets that we can go to if needs be but as we have just changed to a specialist practice hopefully we wont need ot. Anyway off to cuddle a cat, DH doing his exam paperwork. Will try to PM the (many lovely folk that I owe PM's too-sorry!!) depending on computer. Have a nice day and take care. A XXX

just got back from collecting a 'brand new in box slowcooker' from a freecycler. It was given to me straight from the shed ( no box ) covered in dust and lets just say its rather small :o pint sized would be very close :rotfl: Put it this way I dont think I will be doing any batch cooking in it

anyway - still in pain with my neck, have just taken some more pain killers and might have a lie down for 1/2 hour to see if that eases it

Thanks for letting us know about the shutdown tonight snowyowl I had'nt realised :p

    Afternoon all!

I've been away for a little bit again.... combo of supply teaching and illness, who's luck to be ill on Fibromyalgia Awareness day? Mine, of course! Grr. Couldn't help out at my local support groups fundraiser yesterday though as I was working.

Worked this morning, and when I got back, I made a banana loaf, half of which has already been eaten!! Am cooking burritos for dinner tonight and prob will have ice cream for afters.

Not sure if I'm working tomorrow.... if I don't get the 7:45am wake up call from the school down the road, I'll be getting some odd jobs done and roping OH in too, as it's his day off tomorrow... he's currently cutting down his ciggies and is doing well, need to keep him busy so that he's not tempted, then perhaps he'll be smoke free by then end of the month.... here's hoping!!

Right, I'm going to have a bath and put the WM on a cleanout wash, didn't do it last month so gosh knows what gunk is holed up within!!

Sending hugs to anyone who needs them x
