    Good morning everyone,

Still suffering from stomach pains at the mo, but never mind, its a good sign that my platelet levels are higher so thats good, especially as im seeing my consultant on Tuesday.
Nothing much planned for today (so another lovely lazy day, me thinks!!) Its very dull outside, has been raining all night, although it has stopped at the moment. Do want to hoover around upstairs, and maybe sort a few things out, but thats it. Was going to do a roast for lunch, but decided to turn last weeks lamb into a casserole, so have had that cooking in the SC all night, and we woke to a lovely smell this morning. Will do roast potatoes and veg with it i think.
Thats about it i think, hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Vicky - thought of you when i saw that your boys had won on the news last night - bet you were really excited!!!!

    Morning all,

Well, I survived Eurovision. (phew!) Most of it was well and truly awful and even Terry Wogan sounded totally fed up by the end of it - though he was scathingly funny during it. :D I thought Germany was by far the best. Its a shame that most of the votes are political as the best performers weren't properly rewarded.

I did wonder if the UK is pulling a "Father Ted Eurovision" stunt. If you haven't seen it - Ireland are so fed up of winning Eurovision because it costs so much to stage that they deliberately pick the worst song so that they have no chance of winning. :rotfl:

No set plans today. At the mo I am defrosting some chicken stock so that I can make some soup either today or tomorrow in the SC. I also have the rest of yesterday's chicken to carve and store. It was delicious.

DD needs to do some final revision for the start of her SATs tomorrow. Which reminds me, anniestar do you mark the papers for children in the Manchester area or are they from any part of the country? I did wonder if there was a chance you may be marking my DS's papers.

Edited to say: Congrats anniestar on the bank charges refund! Nice to see something good coming your way.

reverie forgot to mention yesterday - I'm also a huge Calvin and Hobbes fan as you can guess by my avatar. I thought I read somewhere recently that there was a new compilation book out but I suspect that it will just be a rehash of all the books I already own.

Off to have some tea. Have a super Sunday. xx

Morning all, hugs to all that need it.

Quiet day today after yesterday's massive clean. Will be making some wholemeal honey bread and a lentil loaf for tea. Will try and be organised and make tomorrows's tea too - veggie cottage pie with a parsnip mash topping.

    Morning all

Well besides it piddlign it down with rain outside ive woken up ina very odd state this morning - my DS 9aged 3) got me up at 6am this morning adn has been nothign but a pain in the bum all morning.

Ive been trying to get my bfs overnight hospital bag ready for him for tomorrow but have no idea what else to put in it or if the stuff ive put in it was right or not - and when i went to dry his pjs for him in the tumble dryer my darling son decided to switch them to a 90 dgree wash instead!!! grrr.......... so am trying to dry them again now

Plus i have to work form 3 - 10pm tongiht and in that space i have to try and nag bf that he can eat up until 12pm tonight but he is allowed nothing afterwards. Not to mention getting bags ready for my little boy to take to my mother in laws tomorrow because that is where we will be most of tomorrow whilst he is in surgery because i know if im left on my own ill start thinking the worst and panicking and my mil is exactly the same so we will have horrible day together.

adn to top it off its that time of the month as well so hormones are all over the bloody place! Also need to make final list of stuff to get my 3 year old for his birthday because im still stumped.

Anyway i best be off as bf has just crawled out of bed- i want to go and have a shower, need to get his pjs dry and dry my uniform too.

    talk to you all soon

    luv

    Good morning all,
Another wet & overcast day here in Berkshire, not going to do much today, I got 2 huge packs of marinaded chicken pieces yesterday for £1.30 so i cooked them & we'll nibble on those today. We had a lovely chicken meal yesterday, cooked for us by our Zimbabwean lodger, it was delish. I'm going to make a rice pud in the slowcooker today, never tried it before, so fingers crossed. & will also do some baking, but not sure what yet.
I'm also going to try & use my Remoulska at least once a week from now on, I do have a recipe book for it, so must dig it out.
On Monday I have to go into battle yet again with the Tax office & also try to get my wages sorted out, lol.
Still what doesn't break me can only make me stronger, or so I keep telling myself!
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all!

Grey and raining here, that incessant, steady sort of rain. The garden is loving it, and the water butts will be full soon, so I'll try not to complain.

Wm on, have damp washing on airers in several places in the house. Will be making a banana and walnut loaf shortly, and will put the BM on.

Not planning on doing any housework today.

Will be going leafletting at lunchtime on behalf of my local Curves gym. Have to wait til DH is down the pub, as he still doesn't know anything about it.

Washburn (my ginger cat) is now coming upstairs of his own accord to play with his sister (Isobelle), but will not venture in the bedroom. They play "chase" a lot, and it's quite funny when Izzy runs round upstauirs and into our bedroom. He chases her, and then stops dead at the entrance.

Still, he's making progress, and I hope we get him back in there eventually!

Have a good day everyone, please help yourself to a <<HUG>> if you'd like one.

    Good Morning All

I didnt watch the Eurovision last night, But I did hear on Radio 1 this morning our result. Like its been said, its a shame where talent is not acknowledged, and that its based political voting.

catowen hope your stomach feels better soon

Nipped to the car boot this morning - it was empty, so didnt take long to walk around it.
Took 3 large bags of plastic bottles/items to the recycling bins!
Just nipping to the cats protection in a short while, have a look for a persain! I saw 3 I fell in love with yesterday at the RSPCA. 1 has PKD (kidney disease) and her life span is short! 1 (spitting image of the one I lost recently) hissed at OH, and the other was so shy & timid, wouldn't be fair as we've got the boxer dog!

Then it'll be home again, to tackle the housework between us both & do dinner
Roast pork with roasted potato's, parsnips & butternut squash, mash, peas, carrots, sweetcorn & broccoli.

I fetched DS a mountain bike yesterday from the Ad Mag, chap wanted £30 but I got it for £20. DS was well pleased.

Thankyou to all who pm me, ref my post yesterday.I really do appreciate everyone's advise & support. I dont think I can get through this without you guys! You are brilliant! thankyou

    Best be off
    Love Emma xxx

dannahaz so pleased the cat is making progress, I can just imagine him stopping dead in the door way, bless him!

sammyk depends on what type of operation BF is having, is it going to be a "bluddy" episode where he's having to change clothes?
as long as you have a wash kit, toothbrush & toothpaste, spare underware & socks, clean pyjama's, I dont think you can go wrong. Magazines/books, or his hand held computer console! slippers or flipflops, or socks for walking the ward!

    Morning all.

Has been raining here - but looks like it might stop soon.

Need to iron and generally clear up. I finished another panel of my throw last night. 2 down one to go (and the edging but I'll think about that later). I'll try and work out the photo thingy if I ever get it finished and you can all have a look at my baby (the gestation of this thing is longer than those of my kids!)

Bought the pret a manger recipe book the other day - so we're having chilli soup for lunch and then wraps for dinner. Made refrigerator cake from it last night - kids had great fun bashing the digestives, and DD discovered straight Golden Syrup, uh oh! - I've finally found a recipe like the one we used to make when we were kids, though for some reason we called it hedgehog cake.

Take care everyone. And have a cuddle if you want it.
