NSD for me today and arranged to go to Wales for a week from next Saturday while my girls are on a school trip to Venice. This can only be good news for GC as my very kind mum likes to get specific food in and pay for it. :)Petrol costs will be off the scale but hugely grateful for free accommodation, pool and spa etc. Have offered to help pay site fees but parents having none of it.

I have just under £17 left for rest of month, fingers crossed should be ok, have plenty in x

I started a spending diary in June last year and was spending £400+ a month on groceries so set myself a target of £320. So pleased to have exceeded that. Summer months should be lower too. Even the dog prefers her Basics food at £1.50 for a big bag. :)

Have a lovely time and make the most of the Spa etc it will do you good.

I cant wait to book a holiday this year, want to go to Rome with DD and DGD but am waiting until my eyes are fixed no point in going sightseeing when I am triping over everything and it would spoil things for them. I have the appointment for the first eye on June llth so hopefully 2nd one in July or early August. So I think will be done and dusted by September and then I can go.

Thank you Meg, I hope you can book a lovely autumn break -- what a wonderful time of year to see the sights. Or a sunshine break in winter -- fantastic to break up the cold weather. Sounds like you deserve to be spoiled :)

    Hi everyone,

    Some spends over the weekend.

£9.98 in Sainsbobs on cakes to take to my nephews birthday party. Ended up bringing most of them home again.

£17.35 in Tosco yesterday on packed lunch bits, f&v for the week. Got a couple of ys bread products too for the freezer.

Looking a bit tight to come in on budget we now only have £83.68 to last until 31st.

HM pizzas tonight for DH and children. Not sure what I will have as put on half a pound at fat club this week :o

    Have a good day everyone.

We had friends coming over for dinner on Saturday. Did think about having a BBQ but felt it was just a bit too cold to sit outside so grilled some steaks inside. (plus didn't feel that confident our disposable bbq would be able to handle it, or actually us able to handle the bbq iyswim....:rotfl:)

Anyway, dinner was lovely but fridge bit empty as a result so went for big shop at Mr T this morning..£65.04:eek:.
This did include 2 x 78 dishwasher tablets on offer though. I have tried to downgrade brand, but find that the cheap ones leave a gritty residue on plates etc, so tend to stick to the expensive f*n*sh ones. This should last us for about 6 months I hope, as I sometimes use only half a tablet for 'cleanish glasses/plates only'...

Am totally blabbing, back to the subject!

Mealplans this week: well, actually not much mealplanning around as we will be going out for dinner tomorrow and Wednesday (or Thursday) again....Our entertainment budget is taking a bit of a hit this month, so am thinking about using some of our GC for this week, will see after I know what the damage will be.

Meals on other days will be:
Yesterday had spaghetti meatballs, basically spaghetti bolognaise but my granny always said that "men need meat" and consequently in our house spag bog is spag meatball...
    Today macaroni cheese with bacon
Wednesday or Thursday: JP with cheese/beans or something like that (to compensate for dining out twice)
    Friday: ?

Saw that June GC has started, but my month doesn't end till 31, so will stick here for time being.

Better catch up on how everybody is doing, have a nice day!

How is your kitchen coming along? :) Main kitchen chap was ill today so lad was here - doing the jobs he could - cleaning up after plastering, caulk in ceiling/wall gap and first coat of paint on ceiling.
So it looks like - not a lot done considering the kitchen was ripped out last Monday. :(
However - lots of preparation work done plus the tiled floor. :)Are they on schedule - don't know? I do know if they are not finished when the 6 weeks is up - don't get paid until they complete the work. :(

hm i have been thinking i should really add my love2shop voucher spends in to my sig as it is actually still the cost of what i've bought.. even though it hasn't actually cost *me* anything.. thoughts? I've added it in for now anyway which means I am going to bust the budget again this month.

I'm selling my house and keep getting stressed out so have done a couple of quick shops where I've just piled stuff in the trolley - still meal-planned but not properly price-checked.. and I did my last shop in the co-op in about 10 minutes so just grabbed what I needed however much it was argh! Still none of it is going to waste so that's something.

Once (if!!!) we get moved in June then the GC will be super important so I am keeping with it .. still here in the May one until Tue 28th when I get paid though.. loving the ideas and encouragement from everyone xx
    keep it up!!

Another NSD - but had to chuck out a few spears of asparagus which were to be used in tonight's tea :( so improvised and used some broccoli instead.
We had smoked bacon, onion, broccoli, tomato and cheese tart with some salad. Very tasty.
