arghh what's the matter with me 'cause I cant seem to stop spending. £23.34 today almost all of it on fruit & veg. Healthy - yes but making me wealthy - NO. Did get some large mushrooms reduced from £1.15 to £0.77 but that was all. £48 left till end of month so will see what happens and aim to keep any overspends to the bare minimum. (well that's the plan anyway lets see what the reality is . . .)
I need to start going shopping without DH but find it really difficult still.

Busy, busy, busy. Dregs of the home baked loaf turned into breadcrumbs and croutons - whizzed the crusts in the food processor, added to the breadcrumb box in the freezer. Used from frozen for bread sauce, stuffing, or a crispy topping on oven baked stuff like pasta bake or cauli cheese.

The rest was cut into 1cm cubes, drizzled with oil, garlic powder and a sprinkle of mixed herbs, baked for 20 mins to make croutons. Stores well in an airtight tub apparently. Never makes it onto soup, the boys pinch them as snacks.

Making biscotti while the oven is on - lasts longer than cakes. This recipe from MFi3: http://mortgagefreeinthree.com/2012/05/pistachio-biscotti/ but subbed the pistachio with 100g nut chocolate (17p Lidl weekend offer) for one batch and sliced almonds/almond essence instead of the pistachio/vanilla for the second. I also use 2 eggs and some oil till it holds together as it is hard to gauge 3 with the varying sizes we get.

Last of the cooking bacon crisped up - on foil for 17-20 minutes - ready for quiche tomorrow as I am nearly out of eggs  and need to wait for the girls to oblige!

Billie-Jo, I do that too, getting a decent F&V veg box cured me, stopped the impulse buys and made me feel good. I do miss the veg box but a real luxury buy atm so not. I also find Aldi good for indulging - really hard to spend more than £15 on F&V with them.

Haven't made it in such a long time. Made a lovely change. Did you manage to find one?

Found it so difficult to keep track of everything by the end of this month (well its end of the month for me as pay day is Monday lol) due to a few family emergencies - but I did find it made me think a lot more about what I was spending and I was making meal plans and not picking things up as much!!

Hopefully next month I will do a bit better on keeping track...!!

Sunshine in the East Midlands at last :T.

Weekly shop at Mr T yesterday, made the mistake of not finding time to eat before I went, so was bit hungry on the job and therefore broke one of the golden rules of grocery shopping. Managed to resist most impulse buys, exception probably a raspberry cheesecake (it was half price) and the cream to go with it. Oh, and a nice piece of Cornish Brie. Never mind, nice to have a few treats :). Spent £49.57 after £5 off £50 and a few extra coupons. Have updated signature.

£37.76 left for this month. Made a note of that for my purse. Last day of my challenge this coming Friday, so should make it if I do a small top up shop at Ald*. I will be pleased if I do as I have reduced my budget a bit this month.

    Keep Smiling :)
