I've had my parent's stay over for the last week so have fallen very far behind with this thread! No hope of me catching up but reporting that my spends are now up to £109.62 for the month, though I need to dig out the receipt OH is hiding from when he went to Sainsbug's at the weekend to buy beer for the BBQ! If he is trying to hide it from me then I probably don't want to know how much it was!!!:eek:

This month is going to be tight, though I've managed to not do a shop this week as have been using up all the LO's from the BBQ and freezer stuff. We are both away at the weekend too, so will do a shop on Monday. It's probably going to be a bit of a whopper as our cupboards are looking very bare!! Though still have quite a lot of meat in the freezer :j
  • Smallish Mr T spend for me today, prob not going to do a proper shop this week, just bits and bobs, will pop into Aldo for new super six tomorrow. Have been off work today and have made spicy bean burgers for the freezer (after I 'tested' one that is...) and cupcakes for a friend's husband's birthday.
Wild and windy here in Devon!

Not been around all week with one thing and another so just updated my £11 spend from Sunday. Popping to Lidl later for a couple of bits but don't need much.

Small spend yesterday in Mr M on 'Meadow Park' milk, 97p for 2 litres (must be a new cheapy brand for Morrisons as never seen it before!) and 50p for 6 enormous baps on special offer. Normally I give OH two rolls for lunch but with ones this big he just takes one, so I've frozen half of them for next week. Quite a good buy as it'll do him six lunches!

Sorry to hear that you're going through difficult times MrsCautius and Billie-jo :(

Low spends since my Mr T shop on Monday. Just 79p in Coop on chopped tomatoes

Had a good 'use up' sort of week, which has meant I've repeated a few meals from previous weeks - this is what I've had

    Monday

Lunch - pasta and pesto (using up the last of a jar of my housemates vegan pesto which he didn't like - it was okay, but wouldn't choose myself).
Dinner - Ching He Huangs five spice chicken stiry fry with pak choi

    Tuesday

    Breakfast - toast with Marmite
Lunch - leftover stir fry from Monday with a small potato (as a jacket) which was sprouting in the cupboard, due to not having enough rice
Dinner - easy meal of tuna and tomato pasta with spring onions and the end of a jar of roasted peppers

    Wednesday

    Breakfast - toast with Marmite
Lunch - A couple of small potatoes with half a can of baked beans
Dinner - Taucheo chicken using the very last of my soy bean paste. It's a lovely recipe but probably won't do it again, because I've had a lot of meals with this recently. Also need to use other things up before buying another packet

    Thursday

    Breakfast - toast with Marmite
Lunch - leftover Taucheo chicken and a small potato instead of rice
    Dinner - housemate is cooking

    Take care all! :)

Blowing a gale and rain in East Midlands, brolly looking in a bad way having been blown inside out a few times on way home from work/school run. Only Prim*rk, but pretty design, so :-(

Small spend in Home B*rgains to report, 18 loo rolls, 3 kitchen rolls and 6 kitchen sponges = £4.98, plus pkt of 3+2 free Aero Peppermint Chocolate bars as treats for my desk drawer =£1.49 (only two left :o, two eaten by me, one given to colleague). Then Mr T for milk, bread, apples and few other bits to last until weekly shop = £7.37. Will update signature. Think I'm still on target at the moment.

Right, going to get on, want to get something done tonight, instead of bare essentials then collapsing in front of TV. Hoping to report on decluttering thread later.

have to agree with you about the weather in the east mids, all my patio chairs, recycling bags and mini greenhouse are in a heap at the bottom of the garden. i had to nip out quick this morning and put the garden parasol down as it was in danger of doing a mary poppins impersonation and escaping over the garden fence.

just made a start on a quorn (style veggie chunks) and veg pie for tea, got to nip down sains local and get milk and potatos as ive run out

  • Well, the defrosted chicken fillets were very small so only lasted one meal :(. Made a stir fry with a bag of YS stir fry veggies and had this with noodles. All bought at the coop, together with burgers, veggies and some bits and pieces. Will have the burgers tonight.

Also popped into mr W today to see if they had the Twinings tea bags as I still had a voucher, so more free tea for me :D. Got some more bread flour as well, glad to see at usual price again.

Spent £17.45 together. We're off for the weekend, so hopefully a few more NSD as weekend spends will come out of the entertainment budget. Am hoping weather will improve, today I went out without brolly.....not a good idea...

Hope everybody has a good (and dry) weekend!

Really enjoyed this tonight minus the Szechuan peppercorns and chilli flakes ...instead i added teaspoon of harissa paste and it made the sauce.
Salmon and prawn Kung Po, with rice and samphire and asparagus (not photographed as wasn't ready). Samphire is surprisingly nice - first time of trying it!
