Hoping to do better this week! Although already spent more than I planned due to adding Sundays spends to this week...
May GC - £100 per week
    Week 1 - £120/£100 , Week 2 £110/100:o, Week 3 £110/£100:mad:, Week 4 £50/100Week 5

    DFW - March '13 - c/c £5600, April £4500, May £2500 :T
  • Hugs to Mrs Cautious - give yourself a little break at this difficult time, you can plan some treats and still be in control. The anger doesn't go away, but like the pain and all the rest of it - it gets easier to bear with time.

Well, I've been off the radar and I think I have had approx £10 spend over the weekend, on some picnic bits to make the most of the amazing weather! But had 2 meals out courtesy of OH as I was at his for w-e and kids ate out of freezer/cupboard so not a bad few days spend wise.
Sounds like I abandoned my children - they are plenty old enough to be left alone! ;)

MrsCautious - we lost a daughter 4 years ago now and although it will always be hard it does get more bearable as time passes. They say there are seven stages to grief and until you have gone through them all you will not be at the point of accepting (which is the 7th stage). It all depends on individual people how long these stages take to go through. Personally I seemed to stand still for a long time on anger but have now accepted it - to a point - Its still early days for you yet and its good that you are all talking about him and being there for each other. Tomorrow would have been our daughters birthday and we already know we are in for a difficult day. Will be thinking of you all and sending big hugs.

Grocery now and another NSD. Today I managed to defrost the outside freezer and after re-packing, labelling etc now have almost a full draw free. For tea we are having some of the lo ham made into sandwiches and a few bread-crumbed mushrooms out of freezer.

Lots of love to you Billie-Jo I'm so very very sorry to hear of your devastating loss, I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Thank you getting sorted Sarah for your understanding and kind words xx
Thank you all for kind wishes, thoughts and wisdom. I really want to feel well. I hope it's not too flippant to add that it was my husband who was more likely to keep a control of the purse strings so he would be well impressed with my efforts xx

Great start to the challenge for me. My challenge always runs from the first day of the calendar month, and so far, on the last day of week one, I've spent just over half of week one's budget.

It helped that I was away overnight on Sunday, and out all day yesterday.

    Meal plan for this week:
Today: steak, jacket potatoes and veg
    Tomorrow: Chicken and leek pasta
    Thursday: Tuna steak, new potatoes
    Friday: Tortillas
    Saturday: Sausage casserole
    Sunday: Lamb chops
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

  • [QUOTE=MrsCautious;

I think there has been an element of 'comfort' shopping with being ill, as well as wanting to buy expensive stuff for my daughters as treats (they asked for fresh pineapple and coconut and I bought *%! Schloer at £1.75 a bottle :( )xx[/QUOTE]

Mrs C .... if comfort shopping helps get you through this difficult time then you go for it !!!
Do whatever it takes to help you get through this :)

Thinking of you at this difficult time xxxx

Hugs to MrsCautious and Billie-jo. I can't say I know how you feel, but I am thinking of you both. Xxx

£26 spent tonight at Mr T. Didn't seem like much, perhaps I have got used to Aldi prices. I was hoping for a voucher as I haven't been there for a while, but no.

Falafel, salads, pitta and yogurt tonight with ... the last of the dill!

Hi £3 spend at Iceland and £21.70 at the local pet shop for dry and tinned dog food. I found out that the pet shop sells Chappie cheaper than Mr T! Thats one more thing I won't be buying at Mr T. Sig updated.

    NSD.

Malaysian curry for tea and made a not very SW friendly Lemon, white choc and poppy seed cake, which is divine. Even DD (who hates anything with lemon) had some and asked for more :)

Thinking of both Mrs C and BJ. Hard times for you both x
