    Hi everyone,

Hugs to MrsCautious and Billie-jo - thinking of you both at this time xxx

Budgets are done to here :)

    Welcome/welcome back to:
    CocoPop06, Cekaelta and eveie189 :D

Had some spends at Ts on Sunday and today. No meal plan in place for this week so need to get my backside into gear before it all goes pear-shaped.

    Off to update sig.

  • Another 2 NSD's. Was tempted to go into town today but resisted and washed the windows instead. Feel very virtuous now :D

Dinner tonight was steak, new potatoes and salad. There's still couscous salad leftover from yesterday's picnic, so thats lunch sorted out for tomorrow.

Have some chicken fillets defrosting and will have a look how to stretch that out over 2 meals, but will need to get some veggies tomorrow. Will have a browse through the recipes to see what I can come up with.

Managed 2 NSDs in a row. Won't need to spend until milk is used up.
For dinner we had a quick meal as it was a busy day. Garlic dough balls with quiche and HM coleslaw.
Tomorrow's dinner is - roasted sweet potato chunks with honey roast gammon and veggies.

I feel so sad reading your posts Mrscautious & billie-jo. I know it's not the same but my nephew died over 10 years ago & while I wouldn't say I've got over it as such I do accept it now. Even though it's been more than 10 years I still think about him regularly and still cry for him every so often and on special occasions. Hope you're both feeling ok as much as you can but don't feel a need to put a brave face on for others. Other people often don't know what to say or do but are usually willing to listen etc.....

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all :)

Sending my thoughts to MrsCautious and Billie-jo.x.

Planing another NSD today, although it's getting harder to come up with imaginative meals as i eat down the cupboards and freezer. I have been using 'A Girl Called Jack' to get inspiration for my meals on a budget. Here is the link if anyone wants to have a look:

    http://agirlcalledjack.com/category/below-the-line-budget-recipes/

To reduce my spends even further, i am going vegetarian/vegan as many days a week as possible. I need to stock up on different beans/pulses. Does anyone know which SM is cheaper for this-Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi or Lidl? Those are the only SMs i have near me, and i dont have any Asian SMs.

After seeing bluegreen's bread photos, i have realised that its her blog that i take a lot of my recipes from :)

    Have a great day everyone!

    xx to billie-jo too
did my weekend's shopping in iceland using my lovetoshop vouchers from the talktalk MSE deal.. the stuff seems cheap enough and ok so happy days.
i've done my meal plan for the week which will include sunday dinner followed by rubber chicken meals.. now I am racking (wracking??) my brains as I'm sure I've seen an email from lidl or aldi with 2 chickens for about £6.. has anyone seen this? I've been checking my emails + internet to try and find where it is.. maybe it's an expired offer but if it rings any bells with anyone I'd be most grateful :D

hope you're all having a good week x

  • My first shop of May and I was blessed to find a selection of reduced vegetables at the supermarket. This week is my 'eat out of the freezer/pantry week'. I will make adjustments to use up the veg. Cauliflower cheese, marrow 'something' etc.
Total this week was £22. I won't be buying any more milk until next Wednesday's shop. If we run out, we use dried milk for the porridge.

Although my target for the month is £180, I am sure that this can be reduced with a little effort and ingenuity.

Now I am off to look up the marrow recipes on here.

Hope the sun is shining on your grocery budgets, all.
