  • I've updated my signature. Spent far too much because I stopped off in M&S because I fancied some Percy Pigs, picked up a few bits I needed:mad:

    What a fool!
  • Another NSD today! :j This is the day before pay day and is the first time in ages that I have not dipped into my savings AND have cash spare to put in my America tin (spending money). My new budget (fortnightly) starts tomorrow.
    Fortnightly budget: $50/$60
On my way towards saving for America! :j

    Hi all,

i have managed to keep within my 1st weeks budget :j

We have a new Aldi store opening here tomorrow, so will be doing my first shop in an Aldi tomorrow.
Does anyone know what their prawns are like? I know that Tesco finest prawns are on half price offer at the moment (£2.50), but thought that i may give Aldi I go instead-what is everyones opinions?

    Morning everyone,

Popped to MrS last night (sorry NickJW!) as I read on the forum that they had Great British Bake Off goodies reduced. I fancied getting some ceramic beans to help me make pastry. Anyway none in my local smallish store :(, but I did get 8 pints milk, 24 ys sandwich rolls, crisps, eggs, and medley bars. We are going to a theme park tomorrow and to counter the horrific entrance fee we are taking a packed lunch :money:

Total of £7.06 spent. The rolls are in the freezer and will do for packed lunches for the next couple of weeks as well :D

    Have a good day everyone.

I think Aldi prawns are much nicer than the tesco ones, in fact prefer most aldi things to tesco. Hope you have time for a good look in your new store, am sure you will be pleased.

We LOVE Aldi's frozen jumbo king prawns actually - they are really big and very meaty - £1.99 for 200g - defrost easily when required

I apologise again for getting name's mixed up yesterday - its an age thing I am told!

Thanks for all the replies on the soy bean paste. Have decided to give it a try as no mould on it and even though it has a smell it isn't a 'gone off or sour' smell.
Not sure of meal tonight as not feeling 100% although think it will wear off in a while. DH had shut the window in the bedroom and got the heating coming on early full blast - I don't like a hot bedroom and no matter what the weather have to have the window open.
Going to do meal plan and shopping list now ready for tomorrow and have fingers crossed its a NSD.

I'm up to about £113 now and although I went in the shop yesterday I managed not to spend anything. It's really hard not to just pop in for a look and see if there's anything reduced etc, because I have to walk past the place to get home each day! Any tips? I don't really feel comfortable with not carrying any money at all because then what if it happens that I need some money for something.
