I can, we went back in March a few weeks ago. :) Bit colder this time.

We stayed just off the old square at a B&B called Tango house.
They do a nice breakfast, of cold meats and cheese. There is also toast and fruit.

There is a number of steps to get up to get to the rooms but they are very nice.

Thanks Jem! So you did all your travelling by staying in one location then? (sorry to ask again).

    Thanks again.

No worries, I can bore people for hours about Poland ;)

We flew in Sat evening to Krakow. We spent Sunday Monday and Tuesday in Krakow.

From there we visited Wieliczka salt mines by going on the bus. Only a few Zloty to get there and back.
For Auschwitz we used a tour company called Krakow tours.
We got picked up form our hotel and taken to the camp. Had time around the main camp then got taken to Birkenau and our driver took us round and told us about it and showed us what what still there as its a massive site!

There is plenty to see in Krakow just around the old city. In spring/summer there are loads of restaurants with outside seating which is lovely in the early evening.

On the wednesday we got the train to Warsaw from the main station.

In Warsaw we stayed in the Marriott in the centre as its right by the main train station and we had Marriott points so our stay was free.

Then we flew back into Heathrow.

  • What do folks think of Sorrento?, loads of people rave about it, but I thought it was a dump full of !!!!! lurking on street corners.[/QUOTE]

i really was very disappointed with sorrento & the isle Capri , lot of romantic hype in my opinion ,

East side of Australia and South Africa come equal first for us. Did a 3 week self drive tour including Cape Town, the wine region, Mosel Bay and Plettenberg. Fed elephants, got within a metre of 2 gorgeous purring cheetahs and did the Blue Train to Jo'burg.

Stunning scenery, lovely people, fabulous food and really affordable. Brilliant holiday.

It would be a toss up between Patagonia and Iceland for me. Couldn't fault either place.

Have been very fortunate to have some wonderful holidays but I love
    New York, Barcelona and Kenya.
I was born and lived in Kenya until I was 12 and went back for my honeymoon in 1984 and went to places I'd never been to before, wonderful. The honeymoon was great but the marriage only lasted 20 years.

Now I am free to travel to my heart's content :rotfl:

Without doubt, our trip through the Rockies, a three nights stay in Vancouver and a seven cruise to Alaska.

In particular the scenery around Lake Louise is unforgettable.

Happy days, still trying to find somewhere as good but don't think there is anywhere!

    Regards
