I love city breaks, yet bizarrely the most wonderful places I've been weren't cities: Tobago Cays in St Vincent and the Grenadines and Frazer Island in Aus.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Enjoying the thread :T I see a few places I wouldn't have thought of going to, interesting.
Places we enjoyed and would go back to:-
Vegas (we go there every year - weather, entertainment, shopping)
Malta
Florence
Also had a great holiday in India, but a one off experience as we're not likely to go back.
In the UK, quite like Inverness and York.
Could have another thread for a travel wish list:D
Mine is Thailand, Sorrento, San Diego, Sedona/Flagstaff and Lake District.0 -
Amongst several other lovely places in Thailand and Cambodia over the last 5 weeks (Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Battambang) we spent much of one of those weeks cycling to and from a glorious beach inside an operational Thai Royal Air Force Base.
I'll keep the location secret, as it's one of those places that we who know where it is don't want many other folk to know about!:)0 -
Australia, been 7 times and if I could afford it would be off again like a shot. Also love the Varna area of Bulgaria. Been going for 25 years.0

UK - Really enjoyed a week in Cornwall. A big house with lots of friends and barbeques in the evenings. Beautiful scenery at Lizard Point and on the park & ride train to St Ives. Nice towns such as Looe and St Ives. Went to the monkey sanctuary and enjoyed cream teas and sparkling cider at the Cornish cider farm.
Europe - I love Italy, particularly venice but everyone knows about the good things there. However I really enjoyed our break in Sicily last year. The food was lovely and had some other influences too as it wasn't always Italian. I ate my fill of almond biscuits and marzipan fruits, heaven. Stunning views, lovely weather and lots of history as it's where lots of the greek myths originate from. Also there's a massive volcano to go up! Mount Etna is three times the size of Mouth Vesuvius with loads of different craters to walk/climb round.
Long haul - I loved New York because of the sights and shopping.
Wish list - I've heard really good things about San Francisco as everyone I know who's been rates it as the best place to go in America. I'd love to see Alcatraz and possibly go round the area to see Yellowstone park and maybe Vegas too. I'd also like to see Niagara falls.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
I have been lucky to have had some nice holidays.
We had a lovely 4 days on the Isle of Wight. Had some beautiful sunny weather and there is just some amazing scenery.
I love Orlando, we have been there twice and I just love the theme parks!
We had a rally awesome holiday to Krakow last May.
Such a beautiful city. We visited the salt mines, Auschwitz and did a free walking tour round the city. We then got the train to Warsaw and had 3 days there. Again beautiful weather and so nice to be away. This holiday was at the start of May 2011. It was when they announced the hose pipe ban in March (I think it was) and then it did not stop raining for about 3 months! :P
We left a rainy and cold London and landed in Krakow in sunny 25C and it stayed like that all the time we were in Poland!JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -

Thanks for the heads up - might do this myself. Can you remember where you stayed?0 -
I can, we went back in March a few weeks ago.
Bit colder this time.
We stayed just off the old square at a B&B called Tango house.
They do a nice breakfast, of cold meats and cheese. There is also toast and fruit.

There is a number of steps to get up to get to the rooms but they are very nice.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
