A lovely day here today - I was very warm in the sun this afternoon for a nice change!

Have dutifully pampered myself with quick bath, defuzzed, sorted feet out for once and plenty of moisturiser which today was finishing off an old lush melt of something - gone now! Also exfoliated and face masked with my messy chocolate face mask which I'll be glad to see the back off once its used up as its soooo messy! Nails next to tidy up and use up the last of the stengthener which isn't doing too much of a good job.

LL - hope your va-va voom returns tomorrow

    Hi all,

Hope everyone's had a good weekend. Mine has been a bit hectic, ended up not going to the studio do on Friday night - OH didn't feel up to seeing a certain someone there but we'll try and pop down and see the guys in the next week or two to keep communication open there. Had the wedding yesterday, went ok though they were a bit unlucky with the weather - had been lovely in the morning and then went dull and a freezing cold wind so rather quick photos outside as everyone was shivering away. Didn't have to stop late on this one so had a few drinks with OH when I got back and then have been sorting through the piccies today. So it's back to work tomorrow and I don't feel like I've had much of a rest! :o Ah well, the way it goes I guess.

Aggy - welcome to the thread! As others have mentioned just try and start with small steps and build up new routines. If all your makeup is old then might be time for a rehaul, I certainly don't think older skin looks worse in makeup but you may suit different products. Clotheswise you're definately not too old for jeans and chinos are quite smart, just looks at what you're wearing with them more. I love my jeans but tend to wear with more fitted tops rather than just t-shirts. Try supermarket clothes ranges or charity shops as then you can try some new styles relatively cheap. Sometimes it might surprise you what suits you.

Anyways, back to it I guess :)

    Morning all!
Pod - do you ever have a rest?
LL - hope you're feeling a bit better today?
Kiwi - bet you're turning into the most glam person in NZ! Lots of effort being made - well done!

I managed to get my nails sorted last night - had to cut them quite a bit shorter to make them look presentable - they looked quite stained and grubby after my foray into the garden so they had to go. Need to invest in some marigolds!
Also finally did the facemask - pomegranate and passion fruit - smelt nice and made my skin feel soft.
Today its the turn of the dreaded hair dye  My least favourite job but needs must.

I'm off to a school do a week on Friday and usually people glam up for them so I have to start with the efforts now. Not sure what to wear yet so will have a root through the wardrobe and maybe venture to the shops next weekend if necessary.
Its a good reason to start to get a grip again - need to sort out food and look after myself more.

Right, the sun is out, the dog is making some lovely smells and so I suppose its time for walkies!

    Hello all,

My long lie on public hol has been ruined by the bin men making so much noise!! Wanted a long lie as this has been my only day off in just over 3 weeks!!

Never mind I will still have lazy morning, going to get some breakfast them I'm going to potter & house clean/tidy then do some pampering and then lie down and read my magazines....!

Nothing to stenuous I think just a lazy old day :)

I must admit sometimes it doesn't feel like it! :rotfl:I'm a glutton for punishment as well, was thinking I wouldn't bother starting editing the pics until this week and then got a begging message from the bride last night saying that no one seemed to have any piccies, even off their phones, and was there any chance I could possibly send her just one or two so she could see what she looked like in her dress. *sighs* Ended up sending her a couple last night so she's happy at least.

Saying that I've booked the day off tomorrow (might as well get my holidays used up before I go!) and I'm going over to Glasgow to see one of my favourite authors do a talk on his new book. I'm really excited - I'm thinking this is how 'normal' people feel about meeting actors and pop stars, just as long as I don't have to say anything to him as I'll probably hyperventilate or something :rotfl: But that's not until 6.30pm so will either have a quiet-ish day or do some filming bits with OH (hmm, so that wouldn't technically be a day off would it? :o).

sweetcheeks - sounds like you've been busy as well, hope you manage to get a relaxing day today x

    Morning all!

A great day here - a long morning dog walk, a 40 min run in the lovely weather and also have dyed my hair too as all that grey showing through was doing my head in!

Coffee time now then its onto a mini garden tidy up, sow a few seeds then lunchtime then an hour of study.......

    Good morning all

Gorgeous day here - at last!!!! Off to see OH in a minute and drag him out into the sunshine. I'll boost him up ready for that Op if it kills me.......

I've told him if he gets to the stage where we can use a standing hoist rather than a sling hoist then he is coming home. So it's up to me to find a house now.......

Whatever I buy is likely going to have to be knocked to bits - doorways widened etc, access sorted out - that kind of thing.

I've seen a couple of nice big bungalows to rent so that might be something to think about if I can't get a suitable property ready in time.

    My friend's mum's bungalow is perfect, Just a pity I can't afford it :(

Anyway I'm all fabbed up, washing on the line, house tidy.

I'm thinking we might have supper outside this evening if it is warm enough, light up the chimenea, glass of wine ...;)

Have a lovely bank holiday X

Pod - enjoy your "groupie" day....

PS - feel a bit brighter today - don't know what it was yesterday but a bit down in the dumps is all.

Strangely I read that and thought I hope ww goes for English marigolds (Calendula) and not the ugly (IMO) French ones and then realised you meant gloves!:o:rotfl:

It's a lovely day here too. Not got much planned but whatever I do it'll be better in the sunshine.:)

I'm fortunate that I have almost no grey hair at all. I think it must be genetic. However my natural colour is a very boring mouse so I do have highlights to make it a bit more exciting.

I've had a good pamper this morning: shower, deep hair condition, blow dry, defuzz, creamed all over with the Aldi body lotion, face moisturise etc.

Don't blame you having a day off tomorrow pod. If you were here you'd have a day off today! I'm amazed you have binmen working a Bank Holiday sweetcheeks.

I need to foray into some clothes shops too soon.

I quite fancied this in Dotty P's. It comes in a navy or black stripe. I thought it looked quite versatile for meetings or just casual. Probably need to do a bit of a summer clothes audit first. I desperately need a new bikini/swimsuit. Bikinis usually better as I have a long body. Generally I'm lucky in either Tesco or Matalan. Sunshine holiday planned for next month so need to sort that.

Also we are off to Rocky Horror in a couple of weeks so need to dress up for that. When I went years ago, my outfit was 'revealing' to put it mildly. I think this time it'll be more prim so for anyone who knows the show I'm thinking 'Dammit Janet'. I'll hit the CSs for that.

Love to all, have a good day whatever you're doing.:)

Pod - which author is it? Exciting!

Hair dye done (managed to ruin the bathroom blind in the process ), face scrub, defuzz and a good long shower. Hair blowdried and face on - all to do a bit of marking!:rotfl: Wanted to see what the hair was like so it needed a proper dry and style rather than my usual day off ponytail.

Having given myself a good inspection in the shower I have decided that I look a bit flabby and so need to get back on the exercise bandwagon again - don't want to let all my hardwork of last year slip. My clothes say that I haven't put on weight but I look and feel flaccid. Need some serious toning. I'm also quite pasty looking so need to get the hint of tan stuff out again.
The end of this week sees the last of the controlled assessments being sent off to the exam board so I'll get some more time to myself thankfully. No excuses then!

Have also taken the dog to the park for almost an hour for a good run before it gets too warm (although quite cloudy here still) and popped to Mr T's.
Time to have some lunch and then press on with the marking so I can spend some time outside later.
    Hope everyone sees the sun.:)

Maman - we cross posted - love the dress, would be good for work for me too. Marigolds.....are they flowers?? Only joking!

Can't go on like this had a meltdown again so sick of it all falling on my shoulders. So angry felt like smashing the whole house up. I didn't! I really felt like going to bed and not getting up again. How the hell did I end up here?
