Thought I would try something new in the fabulosity stakes today and have a go at oil cleansing that I keep reading about. This meant an extra shopping expedition to the supermarket and chemist to get the ingredients and a little measuring cup.

Anyway, I couldn't wait any longer to mix up the oil and have a go - it felt quite lovely and naughtly to be rubbing so much oil into my face, as obviously it's not the sort of thing you would normally do. Not sure yet if the long term effects will be all that amazing and I don't really intend to do this everyday but my face (and hands) do feel nice and soft and clean and not at all greasy like you would naturally expect.

It's a bit like doing the olive oil and sugar scrub on your hands; that leaves your hands feeling fabulous for a short while.

    Hello All

I've been MIA for a few weeks, the operation that I thought was going to be in May/June was brought forward and I'm now at home recovering. I had a call on a wed lunchtime asking if I could be at the hosp for 6pm on the Thurs for a pre-med to have the op on Fri, no time to think about it and que one mad panic to get the house, kids, hubby, dog, and shopping sorted. But now its over and I can concentrate on recovering and start to look forward to the future, its been a rough old 8 months or so for us.

On the plus side I have lost 8lb's but I've got to be careful as my appeitte is back but I'm not doing anything, meant to be total rest for 4-6 weeks, I've done 2 and I'm bored. So hopefully will be able to keep upto date with this thread a little more.

Anyway off to catch up with everyones news, hope you're all doing ok.

Hewie - take it easy and I hope you recover well and feel better soon.

As for me - a really busy week last week so yesterday took it easy pottering around doing jobs at home - got a lot done. 2 long dog walks too with mr dog. No uni work as wanted a day off everything and listed plenty on ebay to continue the decluttering process.

What else? At this week's WI - a lb gained - then bizarrely tried a skirt on that was a bit tight last year and it fits and a skirt for work is way too big. Slightly bizzare nontheless, I'm not too bothered about what the scales say.

Today I'm finishing fabbing the house up, walking up to town, long dog walks and uni work this afternoon.

    Have a good Sunday everyone!

Back from Wales - the funeral went ok, a humanist affair with no hymns or religious aspect. It was actually the "nicest" funeral I've ever been to - 3 family members (including me) doing readings or tributes, a bit of Frank Sinatra and quite a few smiles. I'd like that sort of thing for me when the time comes.
It was a typical Welsh do with plenty of booze and chat afterwards - felt a bit delicate yesterday.
Had a quiet night last night - bath, bit of telly and early to bed - feel much better today.

Some of my friends are running the Manchester marathon this morning so I'm off with the dog later to cheer them on as they pass throughclose to my house.
Also need to go to buy a washing machine - haven't got round to it yet with the dramas of the past week so need to get on with that. The house needs a good clean too.

I'll try to go for a swim too - my back is a bit achey with all of the driving and sitting doing schoolwork late into the nights. A good stretch out will sort it out.

I also need to sort out my nails, do a face mask and a bit of general personal fabbing - need to recover from the very hectic week, proper food, a bit of exercise and a tidy of the house will make me feel "normal" again.

Right, better get on with the day....:)

    Hi all,

No time to answer you all personally but Hewie hope you recover well. Everyone else hope you are all well and feeling fab, hugs to those of you needing them.

Been v. busy, have two OU assignments due in May so have been working on getting those finished. Have also been working on a website and some business cards which I'm going to put up in my vllage and B&Q or anywhere else I can think of (thanks LL :)). Have also had the council fitting us a new bathroom for the last 2 weeks, am abit disappointed as the bath is the right size for a midget so one of my cost nothing pleasures- a soak in the bath will be no more :(. Whilst I'm grateful that councils still do these works i wish they took a bit more input from tenants in regard to fitures and fittings. When you're in my position the small things are the ones you appreciate and a nice relaxing soak was one of my small things.
With all this fabbng has taken a back seat but will be back on it shortly, have lost another 2llbs in weight so should be looking slim for the wedding!
    have agood day everyone:) xx

    Hi Everyone

    Hope you are all well.

Hewie - glad to hear that the surgery went well. At least it's over and done with and hopefully you can recuperate now. Take it easy, lots of rest and TLC. Let's hope we get a bit of sunshine so you can sit out in the garden and soak up the sun's healing rays.

Have just been to see OH - he's very tired and weak - hope this "wonder drug" comes soon.

I've had a couple of days just pottering around, taking it easy, a bit of gentle fabbing, a bedroom tidy and a wardrobe sort out.

I'm hoping to do a bit of clothes shopping next week plus a bit of "house" shopping. I've spotted a couple of likely candidates so keep your fingers crossed for me.

The lease is up here on June 14th so now is a good time to make a start with some serious hunting.

Time to tidy up and get cracking with a nice healthy dinner.

I have made a good start on the food diary, managing about 1400 cals a day. Hopefully that will be about right and I can start to shift some weight.

I might need the occasional kick up the derriere to keep me on track.......:rotfl:

Sun is out but boy oh boy it's a cool wind blowing  c'mon spring get a move on.

Just the usual pottering here. Am determined to fit in some yoga, had sciatica yesterday (dull ache and numbness rather than pain) and when I sleep at night I am not fully comfortable. So time to start work on those hamstrings and do some gentle yoga. Must remember this is a slow process and not to run before I can walk :o

Pod thanks for explaining MB, I've never placed a bet in my life, know nothing about bookies etc, it may as well be binary to me

WW glad funeral went well, we played the cricket test match music at the end of my grandads funeral and everyone burst out laughing which was the desired result.

LL sorry to hear OH is so weak, fingers crossed wonder drug gets to him ASAP xx how are your mum and dad?

Lizzie did they not replace like with like in the bathroom? Why would they put in a smaller bath for goodness sakes?!

Hewie glad OP went well, nice to hear from you x hope the next 4 weeks don't drag too much xxx

Hugs and high fives all round xxx

    Morning all,

LL - I'm still on the big coat but am cutting down the layer on underneath it :rotfl:

Hewie - wow, that sounds like a bit of a mad rush, but it least it's over now and you can concentrate on bouncing back now, hope you're feeling back to normal soon x

WW - glad the funeral went as well as could be expected, I do think it's lovely when they can be more of a celebration of someone's life rather than focused soley on the end which some seem to be.

Lizzie - hope you get some response to the cards :) How annoying on the bath though, I thought they would have to replace like with like as well - it all seems to be about cutting costs these days!

Bitsy - I know nothing about betting either, before this the most I ever did was a few quid on the National when I was younger. You don't really need to know anything about it though, it's just a process to follow.

Anyway, not a bad weekend. OH and I went out doing a bit of filming on Sat, we must have walked miles though as I was knackered when we got back and my legs were definately feeling it yesterday! Been on with the moneymaking as well and am at just under £150 for the first week so feeling ok with that. Got a message from the woman about the parking space saying she wants it long term so going to meet her next weekend and covering a wedding next Sat, with the balance on it meant to be getting paid early this week so hoepfully that will be £350 between them before I even sit now to any more betting/ebaying etc.
Sent off a short story to a competition yesterday as well so will have to wait to hear back on that. Not much fabbing done though, will try and get my nails done tonight at least.
Hope everyone is having a good day x

Well I wasn't sure whether to have it done but when they came to survey they measured and sad they tried to get bath the same size, well it is the same size n that it fits the same space but the design means the bathing area is smaller. We have complained but was to if we get anywhere that's another thing. Oh to have some money!

Unfortunately yes, it's all well and good it looking nice if it isn't functional.

Might have another peruse at the MB myself, did look at it a while ago but it wouldn't sink in. Have been doing quite well with ebay but the recent postage charges mean it now costs £8 to post a par of shoes:eek: so won't be listing many of them as it's offputting for purchasers to pay that much. good luck with the comp- best get back to my assignment.:o

    Morning all,

Lol, maybe I should start a business doing matched betting for people - I could take commission :rotfl:

Am having a good week money-wise already - which let's face it I need at the moment! The people for the wedding on Sat paid their remaining balance yesterday, the parking woman is definately coming to take it on Sat now so that's one month upfront. I also had a bet that went a bit 'wrong' yesterday - had a few moments panic until I realised it had gone wrong the right way :rotfl:Bookies had cancelled my bet for some silly reason but thankfully it won at the other end so actually got £20 off it. I also might have a small corporate job doing photos at a business event on Thursday night, looks like it should be going ahead am just waiting for them to confirm all the details back to me today.

OH and I have been having a talk about what's happening when I leave this job. He's going to sort out half the front room into a 'working space' where we can have the desks, pcs etc out and we can both be working - if we're on the same job it will be helpful but even if not we can offer support if needed :) Am going to have a think how to make it seem more of a creative space though and not just plain officey - all you lovely decorating experts on here feel free to give me ideas :D
Hope everyone is having a good day x
