Just catching up after my weekend. The sun shone and we had a great time. Ended up going out to dinner with a group on Saturday, fortunately had taken something smart just in case but stuck to things that would pack easily. I don't know if you remember but I bought a black, pencil skirt a few weeks ago. It was just a cheapie (£7?) from Primani, sort of textured and stretchy. It's been a godsend. I've worn it out to dinner several times with a coffee lace top and a little black cardi when the weather was freezing. Today I've worn it to a meeting with a jacket and heels. Lots of compliments.:)
Encouraging to hear that DH's consultant is looking out for him LL. I do hope the treatments bring some improvements to his quality of life. Bad news about the house but just proves how important the surveys are. I'm sure the boys are disappointed but there'll be others and they have their mortgage agreed so next time will be easier.
Ate rather a lot at the weekend and managing from the freezer until I can get some shopping in. I'm feeling a bit bloated so need to get some fruit and veg. I'm busy tomorrow but after that I must seriously think about using my gym vouchers. They aren't going to get me fit just sat on my desk!:rotfl:0 -
Good morning everyone
Sorry to hear about your nan Pod - hope all is as well as can be.
Well I've had a bit of lightbulb moment this morning. Didn't sleep very well and am feeling rather worse for wear.
I 've really been struggling this last few weeks, chest pains, stomach problems, aches and pains, constant exhaustion.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm just burnt out.
Any tips......
I'm going to try and take things easy, eat healthily and just slow things down for a while.
At least the sun is shining this morning.
I have some errands to run and a bit of shopping to do. Other than that I'm going to try and have a quiet day.
I'm going to try and sit in the sun later with a book - hopefully the sun's rays will work their magic.
Maman - sounds like you had a lovely weekend.
Don't get me wrong when I say this but I am just a tiniest bit envious. You and your DH are living the life that my OH and I would have been living by now.
Now he lies in a bed half of the time, trapped inside a body that no longer works bored out of his mind and I spend all my time visiting him, trying to keep him amused and entertained and failing miserably.
Ladies - live your lives and love your partners and families. Cherish every day that you have with them.
PS - Edited to add
Just realised how moany and self-indulgent this all is.
so.... I've just hit the phones.
Have made some appts for some essential maintenance!!!
Hair, chiropodist and physio - all for the next few days.
Now I'm off clothes shopping.......
No more whinging - time to get doing.0 -
Go for it, LL...am sure your OH would be happy to see you modelling your new outfits for him0

Just back from my little expedition.
I actually bought some clothes - two tops and a cardigan....
OK not exactly show stoppers but it's a start. Halfway through I was doubled up with stomach cramps so had to cut the clothes buying spree short. My own stupid fault. I stopped for a coffee and a Danish pastry.........Silly.
On the way home I called in at a hairdressers close to where I live now. It looked all modern and trendy so I popped my head round the door.
I know I've made an appt with my usual hairdresser but tbh I've been a bit disappointed the last couple of times - waste of money if you don't like how they do it. So I'll have to cancel that.
Anyway I've had it cut really short - a la Judi Dench - all funky....I like it.It seems to "lift" my face a bit and makes me look less tired and haggard.:rotfl:
They even served me a glass of wine whilst they cut my hair. There's civilised!!!
Right the sun is out and it's (reasonably) warm so I'm going to find a sheltered spot and soak up a few rays whilst I read the newspaper and sip a banana milkshake (home-made -no nasties).
I'm really having to nurse my poor old digestive system at the moment.0 -
Hello all
Hugs to those who need one esp LL.
A weekend of partying (and a change of water) has done me no good. It wasn't that I drank too much alcohol as such just that I did it 3 nights in a row with a couple of takeaways thrown in. My hair didn't like the water and looks really limp and is full of flyaway static and my nails were so weak I've had to cut them right down again.
Feeling tired too despite not staying out too late (just late for me)
So it's back to trying to be healthy and drinking pints of cordial (instead of cider) and taking my make-up off before bedtime!0 -
A nice long breezy walk after work tonight with Mr Bonkers Dog who ran into the lake swimming then went crackers!
A nice compliment today or two - super skinny minny and a nice corporate clothing outfit from 2 people!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hi everyone,
Today I finally got myself back to the gym, granted I only went swimming and then into the steam room and jacuzzi and then home for dinner but it gets me back in the door and exercising again.
Maman that skirts sounds like it was a great investment well doneperfect thing to throw in your bag to take away.
LL glad you've had some time to pamper and enjoy yourself a little and the glass of wine sounds a lovely touch. Your also very right we do take those we love and our home situation for granted sometimes and it's good to be reminded of what's important. I truly hope this new path of treatment goes ahead and goes well
Not so much fabbing today ... Discovered the t-shirt I was wearing had holes in the side of it ... Mortified lol
Someone did ask what scent I was wearing today as I smelt lovely which was nice0 -
Evening All
I've not been on for a few day so apologies for not mentioning everything that has been said since I was last on. I hope you manage to enjoy the rest and recuperation you are planning for yourself Lesson Learned - perhaps not being able to buy the 'project' you and your boys wanted is a blessing in disguise at present with everything else that's going on, especially as it will give you more time to concentrate on the new treatment for your DH.
I have had to stop my running for a while as my knee keeps playing up so will have to rely more on diet than vigorous exercise in the weight loss stakes. I don't want to create permanent problems with it so think it's better to do other things. I'd just bought some new running trousers too - and even made a little detachable pocket for my door key and phone as they didn't have one. I've been to Pilates this morning though and had a really good class - very good for stretching and core strength.
I haven't done much on the personal fabbing front but have been busy with the house. I've been busy with patchwork over the past few weeks and have now completed 5 of my 6 cushion pads for my kitchen chairs. I got the sewing machine out on Monday and quilted them all and sewed them up. Just one to go.
I also shortened my bathroom curtains despite all the positive comments about them being long. I really wanted to make tie backs so needed the fabric to do that. I think they look quite nice though- but I did appreciate all the earlier feedback.
I've also just bought some curtains for the living room from ebay and have purchased a new curtain pole for DH to put up. I am hoping to keep these long if we can get the pole in the right place.

Good morning ladies
Rose - some lovely pics there - you have been busy. Your house fabbing seems to be going really well.
I must admit that I'm looking forward to the time when I can start house hunting for myself and getting down to some house fabbing of my own.
I had a little potter in the garden here yesterday afternoon, but it's not the same.
Not much planned, off to see OH later but first a nice bit of fabbing.
A bit of paperwork to do later. Nothing too strenuous.
I did sleep much better last night and feel quite a lot better this morning so my rest yesterday must have helped. I think I just need to try more of the same for the next few days and try and de-stress.
Have a good day X0 -
Not much personal fabbing here, just the usual amble through the week
feeling really tired lately, can't wait til we have our break away at Whitsun. Will be much needed by then. Only staying in my parents caravan but that will do me just fine. Early morning starts and late nights are catching up on me but its the only time me and H have together at the moment.
Anyway nothing really to sayRose your pics look lovely
Sparkles well done on the compliments
His missus 3 nights of drinking! Heavens it takes me all weekend to recover after one late night
Maman skirt sounds like its paid for itself already
LL keep on with the de-stress xx
Hugs and high fives all round xI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
