I used to work in IT supporting some of the systems for a high street bank. Of course it was always the systems fault - it could never have been the fault of any of us highly trained techiesIndeed. I would have thought that they should have software in place to stop it happening. If I'm about to delete anything I'm usually asked before it gets deleted and anything big I can restore in a few minutes with back ups.
At a push they could blame a hacker or other criminal activity but a software issue is particularly lame.
Its a standard message. Its on mine too and I have zero low ratings. Stop worrying!lindseykim13 wrote: »From what i gather though they are saying that my standards are dropping, but don't worry we'll look after you bull carp. They are claiming i am being given a grace period. When there's nothing changed from any other month i've never had this message before. I have a big i on my trs standard.
I'd appreciate their grace period if i had done something wrong-but i haven't so they can get stuffed.
this is what is says..
Sellers will have a grace period to bring their performance back up to eBay Top-rated seller standard without losing their status and benefits if they fall to Above Standard.
I take that to mean my standards have fallen-and they haven't, never had that message before either.0 -
Everyone on the PS board seems to be getting conflicting info.
Just one blooming line message would suffice so that we all knew whether to relist or not0 -
i'm relisting now. i want to have a fairly relaxing night tonight after last night.0

If they do a proper relist then the sales history in the background will still count towards your best match and you should go back to roughly where you were before (although it might start slightly lower and work itself up over a couple of days). You will however lose the visible sales history as shown on the listing. So it does get worse!
My competitors are going to love this as they mainly seem to have been unaffected and now I am going to have to start again with best match. I know that other things affect best match other than sales history but it certainly helps.0 -
i did a couple of relists earlier to test and see where they ended up . they appear to have slotted back into their best match position0
-
Well I have relisted 2 of our best sellers and I can't see them as yet so we will wait and see.0
-
once relisted it'll take an hr or 2 for it to get back to where it was which is normal re-listing behaviour0

24hrs later...

We're writing to let you know that as a result of a software issue on Wednesday, March 20, you may have mistakenly received a notice from eBay that you'd exceeded a maximum number of allowed listings. As a result of this issue, some of your listings were ended and some may have been temporarily hidden from search results.
Rest assured we take these situations very seriously. Our teams have been hard at work around the clock to rectify this quickly, prevent any reoccurrence, and ensure your uninterrupted selling. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.
The software issue was fixed within a few hours. Any hidden listings are now restored to view. We are in the process of relisting these listings for you—with a fresh start date and for the same duration. This will not have any adverse impact your standing in Best Match search or your seller feedback or standards.
Please note that if you have already relisted any of these items on your own—and you are free to do so—eBay's automatic relisting actions will not cause you to have a duplicate listing.
We also apologize if you experienced any delay in reaching our customer support. We will get back to you shortly with an update on the actions we're taking.
Again, we apologise for any inconvenience. As always, thank you for selling on eBay.

So an apology. No offer of anything more at this stage. All too little and much too late.
There's nothing in that message that they couldn't have sent 24 hours ago.
