    Yes.

But I couldn't possibly eat a whole one.

I'm pleased for them babies are nice. Moved on to wondering why I can no longer get my nails into a decent shape myself and wondering if I should cut them off or keep trying and paint them. Its been ages since I had proper length finger nails, see,a a shame I cannot make them look decent.
I have never been able to manage to grow long finger nails. As soon as they start to grow a bit, my fingers feel all wrong and they annoy me, so I cut them short again. I don't paint them, because (a) they're not long enough, (b) if I do I chip them almost immediately, and (c) it would draw attention to something nobody usually notices, which is that the nails on my different fingers don't "match" - my index fingers have nails the shape of my dad's finger nails, and my ring and little fingers have nails the shape of my mum's finger nails, with the middle finger ones being a hybrid shape.

PS I'm pleased for them too, but not intending to fuss about it. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Yay! Well done. :T:beer::j

But... where is it? What's it like? Why do you like it? What will the journey to work be like? How did the offer/counter-offer process go? What sort of work will you need to do to it? Etc etc etc....

Come on, woman, the NP want DETAILS. ;)

Its about a mile from where I'm living now, so wouldn't add too much onto the journey to work. Walkable into town (though I might re-learn how to ride a bike, I'll have somewhere to keep it ;))

It needs tarting up (hopefully nothing too serious), but is liveable (I am used to living in hovels to minimise rent paid) - which it will need to be as I will have to save up/ collect bits and pieces/ work out what order to do things in :)

My finger nails are very slightly funkily shaped simce I got sick. I cannot remember which ailment it is which deforms them ever so slightly and its so slight only I notice. DH says its one of those things a man would just never notice about himself ever.

When I was younger I wasn't allowed to have long nails because it interferes with some of the extra curriculars I did. One of the great joys I had in young independent adult hood was growing my nails. Hearing nails click on a piano key and having my fingers flatten back used to be a particular pleasure only a teen can enjoy.

    Yay, congrats!

Did you ever get your Collins DIY book for when you become a homeowner?

Not yet, if it all goes through I'll be needing one though. There will be a lot for me to do myself!

I could do that ... except I'd not be able to afford to buy it and it'd still be in the wrong place :)

I couldn't have gone much higher. It's definitely pushing at the edges of my comfort zone :o

My niece had her first baby today, a boy.
    Did something else happen??
My two youngest brothers (twins) were born on the same day as Prince Edward.
It got a mention in assembly.
"The Queen had a baby boy yesterday. Hjd's mother had two baby boys."
    Bit extreme one-upmanship!

Welcome to the new citizen. Glad the birth went well and everybody's OK.

I hope you enjoy good health and good luck if you can find a rational reason for thinking you're my (or my kids) sovereign. ;)

Hope the music's better in your lifetime and rap's just something they use for torture in the Tower of London. :D

    The Royal Sprog is........

    A boy. :)

That makes all the hoo-haa about gender-neutral succession a bit of a waste of time and effort, then.

At least she wasn't in labour for several days - my nerves couldn't have took it.

I hate having nails long, too, but I can't, because of netball. They check your nails before every match (-:
