Kind of weird to imagine that Princess Diana would be being called Gran by now.

That was so not her image .

I think the grandma image is very elastic these days.

Someone I know has a very attractive mum, who for many years had a lesbian relationship and civil partnership. After they broke up she has a new relationship with a man. She really does look forty rather than pushing sixty.

Text book she is not, however she is a very good 'nan' to her grand children and they are happy with her. The lack of grey hair and the possesion of long blonde tresses does not seem to upset the kids and her preference for the gym over jam making appears not to be a problem either.

Yes, but will it sound like he has a plum in his mouth at the time?

No more than a McTavish infant would sound like he had a deep fried mars bar in his.

The people we bought our house from in the early 90's - the wife had imported a lesbian lover into the marital bedroom and exported the husband into a room down the corridor. Then she changed her mind, threw the lover out, and reimported the husband into the marital bedroom. Meanwhile, they took the kid to see a urinary tract specialist because she was wetting her bed....
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Wouldn't the result of that be a lot like feeding peanut butter to a dog?

It's absolutely wellying it down in town - still very hot, though. Thunder rumbling, too.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

How do you find out all that about the epople you were buying a house from?

Oh, and the chap told us he was an electrician. We have removed the proof that he was not.

For a year in my late 20's I worked in a small subsidiary company. Some of the staff were skip lorry drivers.

On a humid day, by way of greeting me, one skip driver said "it's hot and sticky".

Before I could reply he followed up with "and the weather".

    Yuk yuk yuk.

No rain here. I wish it would come though as it is hot and sticky here.( That phrase makes me cringe still.)

Still feel like I ought to have been studded with cloves of garlic and basted every thirty minutes here in the North West. Too hot to sleep.

I feel bad for saying this, but I actually think a bit of rain might be rather refreshing.

Doesn't seem to have worked here - our thermometer opines that it is 28 C both inside and out, and 75% humidity.

We've bought houses from people who deffo were not, They certainly lacked the genes that cause fear.

House 1: spur line to garage. Came down in a thunderstorm. Sockets for TV in bathroom.

House 2: BIL gets weird feeling leaning against wall. Puts bulb against tear in wallpaper, and yes, it glows.

Mind you these people aren't as mad as the Uri Geller nonsense I'm seeing on TV right now.:rotfl:

That's a phrase I never quite heard spoken out loud in West Central Scotland.;)
