I've been trying to be 'busy'. Not much to show for it mind. Can't have everything.

I have been 'fasting' Tues and Thurs (unless I have something on which involves eating on those days, in which case I pick a different day). On these days I consume approx 500 calories (the guide for men is 600 calories). So that works out as 500 calories from e.g. approx 9pm on Monday evening until breakfast on Wed. That's the only rule. I don't do concurrent days, and I think this 'diet' is supposed to work as you should end up with a reduced calorie intake over the week, but without your metabolism slowing down like it often does when you restrict calories every day (aka a normal 'diet plan'). Some people say that you get the best benefits by having 14 (16? can't remember) hours with no calorie intake, but it doesn't fit well around work so I haven't tried it.

I find it works for me because I know I can eat whatever I like the next day, I don't have to keep count of calories 24/7, and I don't feel too guilty for having a beer/ some crisps etc. I'm sure I could see more results if I was a bit more careful on the non-fasting days, but I also figure that it took a while to put on weight so its not going to drop off either anyway.

I seem to have ended up doing a 2:5 diet. Monday to Friday I eat about 1,000 calories a day and try to burn off about the same each day in the gym.

Friday night to Sunday night I binge eat and drink. I probably consume 15,000 calories over the weekend or something ludicrous like that. My weight is stable but I'm not sure it's particularly healthy!

Today I've had 2 baguettes filled with 4 boiled eggs and a big squirt of salad cream and 1 packet of crisps. Loads of calories :)

I would think that the five consecutive days restricted eating suppress metabolism, so that its calorie deficiency stabilising weight rather than getting the benefits of intermittent fasting.

But it's pretty much how I used to live before brain break ( I ate apples, branflakes or poridge and a g and t plus smoked on non social weekdays). Not healthy. Hope your intake is healthier than mine was!:)

We had a yummy salad tonight.....

Ribbons of raw courgette, baby broad beans, petis pois, lots of shredded mint, avocado and lemon juice. Served with some roast chicken cooked with a bunch of tarragon and a lemon up its Jacksy. It that how one writes Jacksy? I'm not sure I have ever seen it written.

Today we had roast rib of beef. roast potatoes, roast parsnips, roast turnips, roast sweet potatoes. Carrots, peas, broccolli, spring greens. Gravy & horseradish sauce.

    edit....we also had yorkshire puddings.

An apple tart with cream - like a tart tatin but a Mary Berry recipe and made by my DD.

I need to lose weight. Just need to get myself out of eating/feeding us comfort food and move more. Do not think it will be this week though... as I have the means to make steak & kidney pie or pudding and a lamb stew/ lancashire hot pot, another night will be pasta carbonara.

Probably - I've never seen it written either :)

Looked it up and it seems to be one of the allowable spellings :)

I'm eating up what I've got that could go off.... popping off for a couple of days shortly (so don't worry when I disappear), so need to eat it or bin it - and binning food's not allowed.... so having to eat things.

Got some cherry tomatoes and one chilli to get through tomorrow.... so that'll be naan bread pizzas :)

I have a very heavy reliance on bread-based stuff as a rule. Bread and spuds.

I don't know what a rib is .... but I notice a lack of YORKSHIRE PUDDINGS!!!! I make fabulously huge yorkshires, they rise so much I'm sometimes scared to even put them half way up the oven....

Not a fan of cream as a rule - custard's my favourite.

Check out the Hairy Bikers Diet Pie - see if you can squeeze any calorie savings into your recipe.

Tonight I made a giant braised vegetable dish (a cannibalism on Buddha's delight). I am contemplating glutinous rice ball pudding.

learning how to do european style knitting and it's much quicker, wonder why not everyone does it. Didn't do much gardening, need to do more soon, it's a bit of a mare when it's still soooooo cold.
