My interview wasn't an interview in the end as I suspected. Already on the position! So that's all good. People I'll be working with seem nice, and it looks like it'll be genuinely good experience, not just brewing up for a month and a half.

It starts properly Monday morning, so I'm just looking forward to that now.

    Hurrah!

Well done. Moving now feels less like it has been bleak option I hope?

    Heheehe.

It's their absolute favourite food of all. What I find weird is how some brands of packaged tripe are preferred though.

    :)

He probably just "knew somebody" in one of those lucky breaks.
He definitely had factory connections up north (as they moved from Morecombe down to Camden to do vintage stall in 79) as it was the replica vintage that evolved in to red or dead that made them the ££££.
I recall being so frustrated back in late 80's that we couldn't find trustworthy places to replicate in volume what we knew would sell.....but just didn't have the contacts down south...and no google then either.
Because it's where she had the chemotherapy, and under the same consultant. Cromwell Hospital, in central-west London, and during the treatment, my parents sold their London house and are now living in their Kent place, which is 60 miles away.

She's anxious to know whether she's still clear or not.
    shame......when will she go back...soon?

Good write up on the thingy Lir :)........maybe a bit of posting on various forums if someone posted a concern about the procedure?

All a bit stress here in fc towers as been sorting out MIL's separation this week and next...so much aggro a she is totally useless at doing forms, applying for anything, bills, budgeting and so on. Don't mind doing it for her but I really hope I won't be in the same 'place' as she is now aged 69.

I was reading something about Popeye and spinach the other day. I think it said something along the lines of spinach isn't actually all that full of iron, it just got the reputation from Popeye.
    Still yummy though.
I think curry powder's meant to have the most iron. Love spinach and curries. But I think there's so much oxalic acid in many leaves that you have trouble absorbing the iron, even though vit C helps absorption. You absorb Iron more easily from animal matter I gather.;)

So a vindaloo-strength chicken saag sounds like a good idea. Shame I've eaten me dinner tonight already.:D

You lot are chatty tonight - shame it is all about internals and spinach - neither my favourite topics.

WE are now sort of ready for the next two Spanish girls, I don't seem to have had a free evening for weeks what with that and the development project and the house being even further disarranged means even our bedroom is now full of 'hoard' - I think DW and I both probably need help in that respect.

We just need to find I man who does...finish the kitchen and decorate, so we can move the kitchen junk out of the dining room and the formal dining table out of the kitchen into the dining room...tile and paint the garage so we can move the shelving out of the shed and put the books and CDs currently in the shed on the shelves in the study/dining room that will no longer have the kitchen stuff on them and the tools on to the now liberated shelves in the garage.....fix the relatives car on the drive that is there because said relative can't afford to fix and run it so it can come off the drive so the drive can be fixed properly and then we can put up the basketball hoop...paint the unpainted upstairs bedroom and corridor and the hall/stairs so we can get a nice carpet...and all for no cost until the development project completes as we have to watch cash flow until them...did I mention the rest of the hoard in the loft and at the relatives flat that needs sorting/rationalising which also goes for all the stuff currently in our bedroom, the dining room and the shed (and is fast filling up the garage)
    I think....

Thanks :) Yeah feeling better about it. It's an unpaid internship, but worth it for the experience. Hoping to be mentored by this management consultant they've got in at the moment, but we'll have to see about that. Anything I end up doing will be something for the CV, which in the end is what it's about.

There's a good chance of paid work at the end of it too, which is great. Initially that would be for a few weeks, but I start my masters in September so if I could get part time work out of it for the next year that would be fantastic.

So yeah things are looking up. My biggest worry is my lack of specific work experience, so working on that is making me feel better about things.

Whilst it might feel embarrassing, you can be certain that the clinical staff will have no embarrassment whatsoever. They will have seen most things before, and will again.

I know it is probably true, but I never quite believe that.

I also panic at the thought they may find something untoward while I'm lying there.

I have no reason to be needing any investigations at the moment other than not knowing if things could be hereditary and for that reason alone, best practice is to be investigated 15 years before the age when a first degree relative got ill.

But we don't know if what he had was hereditary other than his father also had it (but its a common C) and even if it is hereditary there is a 50/50 chance I haven't inherited. Less if it follows a male gene pattern.

A year before he got ill he was sent a routine poo kit in the post - that he binned, having said he would do it if he had any symptons. Of course we will never know if it would have picked up anything. His double bad luck was that it spread incredibly quickly as well as getting it in the first place.
In fact we once commented that all his investigations were external scans and blood tests - he never once had anything like lir has had.
