I hope they're not still hoarding it, Spirit!
During the 6 months I worked in a hopsital lab, that was one of the least favoured jobs - disposing of the wee
Sorry - self-quoting
On a little more reflection, it was one of a number of not very nice tasks. Definitely not a glamorous job!0 -

Great day, ending badly.
Resident parent said they would cook, and declined my offer to leave something they could re heat for me tonight. We discussed, and discussed and discussed this, with lists of what I could and couldn't eat. (I make for them stuff I cannot eat all of, so I don't expect it to be noticed). i even found a few things that looked noce, were super easy to cook and discussed them and emailed the recipes, i thought we were all set.
I could not eat what was offered at lunch time. Any of it.. It's not a matter of taste ( if it were i would grit my teeth and eat politely ) but a matter of what's on the medical do not eat right now list. It wasn't really an issue at lunch time. Tonight I was told we are having fish and chips. I just cannot have that.
I'm not actually that hungry so have grabbed the apple I have been wanting so badly and grapes but I cannot help but feel disappointed. Sigh. Oh we'll, more fool me. I know better than that.
That would annoy me. They should have listened to your needs as they have wasted their time and disapointed you.neverdespairgirl wrote: »Just spoken to my Mama, who is stressed and cross. She went to London today to have the first PET scan since the end of her chemotherapy, so fasted, got the stuff injected into her, and then the machine broke, so she sat around all day, didn't have anything to eat, and didn't have the scan at all, and then went home (60-odd miles).
So she's really fed up.
That is understandable. It is not just the wasted prep and effort but anticipating knowing teh outcome. I hope they can tell her soon how she is doing.lostinrates wrote: »Poor her.
Why so far for the scan? Is it the nearest offered or the best choice offered?
PET scanners are in relatively few hospitals.
LIR - the staff at the clinic where you had your procedure would appreciate you telling them about your good experience. I am so pleased it wasn't unpleasant for you. You deserve a break.0 -

Oh lir. Should you not have something more substantial? I know its not the same as having it made for you, but can you not make a little something up yourself?
Consultant was very strict about no useing the cooker.. Tbh Marion issue is that there is not much fresh in (parent was going to shop) and I cannot go and get it.
I could cook stuff, but I just don't need to, not that hungry, eating for fresh taste and health. E.g. I could scramble eggs etc, but just don't want more eggs!!!! ( don't want to spend ages cooking store cupboard dry goods or stuff from frozen. I don't fancy soup....if pushed I'll defrost that as a midnight feast.)
I don't really have much fresh in because parent was going to shop for today and tomorrow ( signed off driving for the two days, not just twenty four hours......) .
I'm ok, I'm not hungry, and there is food (albeit not what i want) if I get hungry, I'm.......disappointed. But that's my own fault. DH is fuming, and found somewhere that would deliver a meal, but I don't need food.0 -

Could she move to have her scan closer to her now or does she really like the consultant?0 -
This board is a great litany of the good and the bad of the NHS so far :rotfl:0

I left a feed back form.....this hospital love feed back forms. But I'm back there to discuss next step with my gut next week I think, so I will reiterate then. The consultant has said he considers it my mission to broadcast how good it was, because he assured me people do die rather than do that, and its so not bad it's crazy.0 -
